MMD in Lusaka Province says it will not allow the people said to be threatening village headmen in Chongwe district in an effort to force them to join the opposition Patriotic Front.
Provincial chairperson William Banda says Zambia is a democratic country and that people are free to support a party of there choice.
Mr. Banda adds that the village headmen who have decided to support government because they have seen its determination to develop Chongwe and the country at large.
He notes that the MMD will ensure that the village headmen are protected from harassment allegedly being perpetuated by the PF in the area.
And Mr. Banda has said there is need to investigate what has caused some of the headmen to support the opposition PF.
He has since urged the village headmen in Chongwe to allow the opposition PF tom entice them saying the opposition has nothing to offer the Zambians.
