Is-He-Real For Felix Katongo? Chipolopolo Star In Last Ditch For Euro Move

Chipolopolo midfielder Felix Katongo is believed to be in Israel attending trials with unnamed club in Israel and the 27 year old is likely to miss this Wednesday’s international friendly match against Zimbabwe in Harare in order to sort out his future.
The tricky winger cum midfielder left the country last week to go and try his luck in a country which has proved to be a success and stepping stone for Zambian players with the likes of Emmanuel Mayuka, William Njobvu, Justine Zulu and Rodger Kola all lynching their Euro careers there.
The former France based midfielder who had an unsuccessful stint at Rennes has been in search of a club after his contract with Libyan side Al Attihhad went into hibernation due to the political unrest in the country.
Last month, he had attended trials at Egyptian side Zamalek but after Hossam Hassan was sacked two days into his trials and Hassan Sheshata was hired, things did not turn well for the nimble footed playmaker who has been one of Zambia’s key player in the last seven years.
Chipolopolo Boys coach Dario Bonetti, who is back in Lusaka and now at his fully furnished house rates the midfielder highly and went on to name him in the squad for the Zimbabwe friendly despite him lacking match fitness.
