REPUBLICAN President Michael Chilufya Sata Friday 12/16 evening around 18:10 hrs arrived in the country aboard his presidential challenger jet at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport from Kampala Uganda.
Sata’s Jet landed at Kenneth Kaunda international airport when some light rains were showering.
Sata caused drama and laughter as he was disembarking from the plane when he stopped his aide de camp from covering him in an umbrella for fear of being soaked by the rains.
Sata was two steps away from the jet stairs to the ground when he brushed off his bodyguard not to give him an umbrella cover from the rains.
‘No need for that. Just keep it’ Sata was heard telling his aide.
Instead, Sata whilst rain showering, went straight to greet some government officials who lined up to welcome him.
That caused laughter amongst looking airport workers, his delegation and government officials who stood by.
After greeting the officials, Sata went straight to his Presidential vehicle and later left for state house.
First lady Dr Christine Kaseba Sata was right behind him and was in an umbrella.
Sata was in Uganda attending the great lakes region summit where he gave a keynote address and later handed over the chairmanship to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

Ba Tumfweko ne chisungu chenu ichabufi. A shower is NOT a light rain. It is a heavy down pour but which lasts only for a short time.

It is clear that those who see a joke in this have become accustomed to abnormal behaviour practised by previous presidents.
Picture this – people are standing in a line IN THE RAIN waiting to welcome the president. The president thinks this is not right, quickly gets the greeting done without an umbrella to show those who were waiting in the rain that there is no need to be standing in the rain.
Sata has refused to let police officers stand along roads for entire days when he is travelling like it used to happen in RB days. You will not find drunken cadres dancing and singing at the airport like idiots.
The joke is at the end of the day on those fools who think being a national president inconveniencing people just to comply with known practise or protocol.

The man has a very bad temper. Why not just keep all these people away so that they are not embarrassed. At the rate he is going, someone may do a Kabila on him.

Ziman don’t compare a one party state with a Democracy. Botswana which has no opposition can afford to have Presidents that ignore security protocol All enemies have been crushed or intimidated into Oblivion so the President knows there’s no risk in doing what he does. In a democracy people are so free they can do ****** things so Sata should watch out.

This is now a true testimony of negative things I used to see, when our wives and mothers used to line up and dance when they see the President. Let us work hard and get buzy.

That is expected from Sata and its normal for him to potray an impression that he is with the ordinary person. Any one can do that but the presidency post comes with baggage either you put up with or not. Nothing to do with being with common man. Sata is eccentric and cashes on the system which he hardly proposed in parliament to be changed.
