The Zambian Watchdog, funded by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has continued fabricating stories to discredit President Michael Sata and the PF government, and even when their stories have been proved false, they have failed to retract or apologise.
Below is a few of the false stories that were reported by the Zambian Watchdog, which turned out to be malicious and false:
FALSE STORY: MMD MP Keith Mukata quits as deputy minister from PF government
Commerce Deputy Minister Keith Mukata has resigned his position from the PF government in protest against the ‘street’ way government is being run.
Information reaching the Watchdog show that Mukata tendered in his resignation today or will do so Thursday morning.
Mukata is in disagreement with the happenings in the way things are run by Sata’s government.
Mukata, who is also Chilanga MMD MP who joined the PF govt plans to apologise to the former ruling party.
TRUTH: KEITH MUKATA IS STILL DEPUTY MINISTER OF COMMERCE. HE VOWED NOT TO QUIT AS HE SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH SERVING IN GOVERNMENT. ON THE 19TH OF JULY, MUKATA, WHO IS CHILANGA MMD MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT TOLD THE POST:
“THE LAW IS ON OUR SIDE, THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WHO ELECTED US, ARE ON OUR SIDE, THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH US SERVING IN GOVERNMENT.”
FALSE STORY: Sata to appoint GBM vice-president
President Michael Sata will soon appoint Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba as Vice president, the Watchdog has been told.
Mwamba is the current minister of defence and is a nephew to President Michael Sata.
According to information given, Guy Scott will be demoted to be the minister of Finance.
Current Finance minister Alexander Chikwanda, the Watchdog has learnt, has asked Sata to send him into the diplomatic service.
Chikwanda has whispered to close allies that he is not happy with the rampant corruption at the ministry of Finance and in the PF government generally. So wants to take up a lesser prominent position as resigning from the family government will send wrong signals.
TRUTH: ALEXANDER CHIKWANDA LAUGHED OFF THESE SUGGESTIONS. GBM WAS NOT APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT!
FALSE STORY: Demoted Luo goes on indefinite leave, may resign
Demoted Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister, Prof. Nkandu Luo, has reportedly gone on an indefinite leave from her job.
Sources in PF government told the Watchdog that Prof. Luo may actually be the first minister to resign from her job due to frustrations on many issues. Read more lies on http://www.zambianwatchdog.com/2012/08/01/demoted-luo-goes-on-indefinite-leave-may-resign/
TRUTH: PROFESSOR NKANDU WENT ON LEAVE FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF HER MOTHER
Other lies from the Zambian Watchdog include a false story that alleged that President Sata was in hospital in India at the time the Head of State was in London last month, and the recent cooked up story alleging that deported Catholic Priest Fr Viateur Banyangandora had denounced President Sata [ click here] http://www.zambianwatchdog.com/2012/08/15/deported-fr-banyangandora-says-dictator-sata-will-lose-next-elections/
The priest has since denied calling President Sata a dictator and denounce as lies the fabricated reports by the Zambian Watchdog: see herehttp://www.daily-mail.co.zm/?p=11566
