PF Govt To Give K25 Million To Each Chipolopolo Player If They Beat Uganda On Saturday

The Zambian PF led government has pledged to pay Chipolopolo players $5,000 (K25 Million Approx.) each for a win in Saturday’s crucial second leg 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.

Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Chishimba Kambwili revealed the development in an interview on Wednesday.

“Government has decided to increase the players’ allowances from the usual $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 in order to boost the morale of the players in camp and to encourage our boys to beat Uganda,” said Kambwili.

“The match in Kampala is very important for us and we are committed in ensuring that we do everything possible for the boys to defend the Africa Cup in South Africa.”

The Minister added that the government was committed to the promotion of sport and that the onus was now on the boys to perform to expectation.

The Zambia national team is currently in residential camp in South Africa and is expected to leave for Kampala on Thursday on a chartered flight.

Foolish pipo. Those fools should be proud to play for zambia without any motivation. Its a ****** idea. There are pipo who are suffering in this country who need that money more than those chaps.

Firstly stop talking about $ but ZMK. The motivation is good but spread it to government workers and give them bonuses to encourage them too.

Its better to come up with such incentives very early in the campaign. Otherwise now you would be telling teams to always make heavy weather of qualifying so they can wait for incentives in the final game

@Ichiselema Chansele, I appreciate your sentiments, but we should acknowledge in Zambia that Soccer is our main sport. It has a huge following and participation in almost every corner of this country and does a lot to unite us all across all diversities such as tribe, political affiliation, religion, social status, etc. in fact, soccer is everyone’s religion in Zambia. So without taking anything away from other sporting codes, let’s not draw this unfair comparison, but impress on government to adequately sponsor these sporting codes. But the management of these other types of sport should also be strengthened and be conducted in a professional and transparent manner!!

The PF announcing allowances and winning bonuses instead of FAZ. Well The Buffon Kambwili u should have kept quite.

Now Uganda is giving their players $15,000 if they beat Zambia. why give incentives thru the press??? Paya farmer, u cant even find money to pay farmers and retirees using same zeal.
