The Football Association has unveiled a 24 member locally assembled squad that will play Namibia on May 25 in an international friendly that coach Herve Renard will use to rope in local players in the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on June 8.
There is a notable absence of Nkana’s Reynold Kampamba and Power Dynamos goalie Joshua Titima.
Most teams across the continent have named their World Cup squad with Zambia still on a merry go round failing to bare the squad early to ensure the players area aware in good time.
South Africa national team coach Gordon Igesund named his World Cup squad in a televised press briefing as the Bafana Bafana shape up for a clash against Central African Republic.
Zambia is expected to face up to naming a fairly changed starting Xi with regulars Stophilla Sunzu and first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene ruled out due to injury and suspension respectively.
Renard also has to contend with regulars that have seen little action owing to being clubless or being shunted to the bench at their clubs.
