Kabimba: PF Is Dying

THE PF is in the Intensive Care Unit and it’s dying, says Wynter Kabimba.

And Kabimba says he is walking the streets of Zambia as a free man because he never stole from anybody or used his position the time he served in government to corruptly acquire wealth.

Meanwhile, Kabimba says Zambians must not be apologetic to a sick system because capitalism has failed the nation.

Speaking during a special programme on Kitwe’s YAR FM yesterday, Kabimba, who is general secretary of the central committee of the Rainbow and the party’s presidential candidate in the 2016 elections, said everything had gone wrong in the country and the PF was on its way out.

“Everything has just gone wrong in this country. Against the pronouncements that we hear that this economy has been growing between six and 6.5 per cent over the last 23 years, poverty has doubled. You are able to see that even here in Kitwe, you have more poor people in 2015 than you had in 2001,” he said.

“The population of the poor, the numbers of the poor people are increasing. I do not understand this contradiction where on one hand, we are being told that the economy is growing and on the other, the population of the poor is also growing.”

Kabimba said more people today are going hungry and dying of preventable diseases than 30 years ago.

“People are getting poorer and poorer every day in Zambia because of corruption and there are many children being born today that will not live to see their third birthday. A year ago, a student that got best results to go into the University of Zambia committed suicide because she could not access bursary. Out of that helplessness and hopelessness, she took her own life. Yes, everything has gone wrong,” he said.

And Kabimba said he had never stolen from anybody or from the government because he believed in working for himself.

“I was fired from government by my friend Michael Sata on August 28, 2014. If I were corrupt, if I had stolen money from government or if I had done something wrong while in government, I am sure I would be in jail today. The reason why I am walking in this country as a free man is because I am a disciplined person. I went into government to go and serve. When I was Cabinet minister, I never lived in a government house; I lived in my own house. There are Cabinet ministers today that have left their houses and moved into government houses, and they have put their houses on rent. I know there are people who have been peddling lies about me having dictatorial tendencies or that I told people to ‘clean my shoes to get a job’, it’s not true. I am not a saint but I am not a friend of the devil either,” he said.

And speaking at a public discussion on Rainbow Party’s socialist ideology in Kitwe, organised by the Press Freedom Committee of The Post on Sunday, Kabimba said the Rainbow Party’s socialism brand was a response to the country’s social and economic conditions presently at play.

“We can’t remain apologetic as a nation to a system that has failed us. This capitalism has failed us. We need a system that will address the needs of the majority poor,” he said.

“The model of socialism adopted by any society is determined by the social conditions of a given environment in the course of history of society and the prevailing laws of development at a particular time.”
Kabimba said there was extreme inequality which was getting out of control whether within or between countries worldwide and developing countries like Zambia.

“Against the billion people in the world who struggle to get enough to eat or get an education or access to health care, a billion people whose dreams for a better life may not be fulfilled no matter how hard they toil, the rich who are just about one per cent will own more than 50 per cent of the world’s wealth in 2016,” he said.

Kabimba said there was nothing good left in the PF as the ruling party is now characterised by rampant corruption, inconsistency in policy pronouncements and stalled projects.

He said in its present form, the ruling PF was a capitalist political organisation which was not different from all other political parties before it, hence its failure to pursue and implement a pro-poor development programme.

“What we see now in the PF are inconsistent policy pronouncements, rampant corruption, stalled projects, a currency which is daily losing its value at an alarming rate, social disorder and overall a floundering economy. There’s nothing good left in PF. Again, the workers and peasants of this country have remained at the receiving end of a raw deal with no hope of redemption in sight,” Kabimba said.

He said the PF, whose constitution’s preamble declared socialism as an ideology, had failed to implement a socialist and economic programme.

“As Rainbow Party, we believe that in order to change the current economic system, you must transform the structural foundation as a whole,” said Kabimba.

Dream On! Mr Kabimba! You are way out of sync with reality. I just wonder what makes Mmembe to think he can sell you to Zambia

Everyone is born a non-believer, born without the belief of a god. Belief of a creator comes later after your family and community has had a chance to indoctrinate you into whatever religious tradition you have the misfortune of being brought up in. Did you know, I can more times than not, accurately predict your religion based on your geographical location that you were brought up in? Religion…nothing more than a taught theory…a theory that has zilch, nada, zero, not one shred of tangible evidence to support it. But hey, if you want to worship to, and believe in an invisible magician who lived in the sky, that simply “made” everything from nothing at the wisp of his wand, then have at it…I’m not stopping you, nor do I hate you for it…I support religious freedom. Speaking of the sky, most can not comprehend how large our universe really is. We now know it houses over 100 billion galaxies. Anybody who thinks a deity created us, and put us on this little insignificant hunk of rock, and made the rest of the universe, as a by-product from creating us, is diluted at best. I simply choose the overwhelming and abundant scientific evidence that outweighs the (zero) evidence, that a magical man who lives in the sky who “made” everything…science and evolution explains everything. Creation is on the fast track of being out. Just like 600 years ago, every educated person on the planet thought the earth was the center of the universe, and everything revolved around it. Equally, 600 years from now, humanity will look back and laugh that some people believed in this invisible magician. God(s) did not create man, rather, man created god(s).

We are yet to see what the rain-ball is made of after the 2016. but it is good that Mr kabimba is a force to reckon with, though, he is the most misunderstood man in the history of our zanmbian politics.

I see Kabimba getting mad very soon.
The agony is why people with dirty hands ran to form Parties so that they complain of victimisation once persued.

Time is catching up. He has heard the ACC is almost on him. This is the careless talk you see.

Yes! Good evening Peter. It is really a wonder that Kabimba, who was known better by Sata more than his father would be left in limbo by that same person. Talk about self prophecy gone negative! Its good baKabimba was picked up by Mmembe. Otherwise he could have lived a very good quiet life.
On an aside, it is good to see more political players in the game. Can someone ask Brig Gen Miyanda to come out of his closet now? I need to adopt his Village concept!!

I have no problem with Winter, but I have a problem with the fact that he was one of these PF people up until he was removed. Now for him to cry foul and say PF is dying seems like “sour grapes” to me. My opinion.

Can someone give me a list of socialist /communist States apart from Russia and China, which have embraced capitalistic business ideals and putting on a socialistic face politically. After putting up the list give me their economic status. Some chaps are mental patients we should be careful, we might find ourselves lining up to buy a roll of tissue paper.

    [Qoute]By Michael Runyan ~

My path out of Christianity began 30 years ago when I realized that evolution was a fact- that we evolved from very simple organisms that lived 4,000,000,000 years ago. I wondered why a god would use such a long, convoluted process to produce the desired human product, a process that included a 160,000,000 year reign of the dinosaurs and the countless suffering of animals that starved to death or were eaten alive. The way I got out of that conundrum was to suppose that God allowed everything to happen on its own and that only when intelligent beings evolved did he decide to intervene, and that perhaps he did the same on other planets where intelligent life evolved

      [Quote]By Michael Runyan ~

For a while, I was satisfied with that, but then I started to realize other problems. Modern humans have existed for 100,000 years, so why did God wait 95,000 years before he made contact? And why was that contact made with only a small tribe in the Middle East? The problem was further exacerbated by the question of why God would “choose” a certain people over another in the first place, while ignoring the many vibrant civilizations that existed all over the world at that time? Then it became worse when I realized that God allegedly not only favored the Jews, but he also helped them to fight their neighbors, even to the point of commanding them to kill the adversary’s women and children. Why would a god who had built the entire universe become involved in such cruel and petty absurdity? When looking at the other atrocities ascribed to God in the Old Testament, I also realized that no real god would ever act in that way. I also concluded that the god of the New Testament was very different and could not be the same as the one described in the Old Testament- though, if that is true, then Christianity fails a significant test of authenticity.

I was impressed by this quote from Richard Dawkins:

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

There are scriptures to back up every adjective in this quote.

That’s why its important to be respectful to people when you are climbing the ladder, you might need themon your way down. Kabimba will never rule this country!
