Siamunene’s Appointment Good For Unity – Inonge

Vice president Inonge Wina says President Lungu’s decision to appoint Sinazongwe member of Parliament (MP) Richwell Siamunene as Minister of Defence was made in the spirit of the nation unifying motto of ‘One Zambia, One Nation’.
Mrs Wina said President Lungu is grateful to the people of Southern Province for their approval of his appointment of Mr Siamunene as Minister of Defence.
Speaking on arrival at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport here yesterday, the Vice-President said Zambia belongs to all Zambians.
“We are all Zambians, we need to share the same cake. We need to co-exist and promote development because we did not choose to be in the region where we are but it is by God’s design,” Mrs Wina said.
She also said Government is encouraging various institutions to hold their meetings in Livingstone because it is the tourist capital of the country.
“Government is encouraging institutions to come and do their business in Livingstone that is why you see us most often. We are delighted with your welcome always,” Mrs Wina said.
She said tourism is not only about the Victoria Falls and Government wants more people to come to Zambia to sample the country’s numerous tourist attractions.
“The people that come to Zambia also want to sample the local dishes in your homes, so you should open your homes to the visitors at a fee,” Mrs Wina said.
She said tourists want to know how a Zambian lives and urged people to open their homes to tourists.
Mrs Wina said tourists flock to Soweto township in South Africa just to have a feel of the way of life of an ordinary South African.
Mrs Wina also urged Livingstone residents to make use of the Citizens’ Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) to access loans and to invest in the tourism sector.
She also called on the people to work with the local authority to set up investments in the tourism sector.
The Vice-President is in Livingstone for the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region meeting.
Earlier, Southern Province minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu said people in the region are delighted with Mr Siamunene’s appointment as minister of Defence.
Mr Mubukwanu said President Lungu’s decision shows that Southern Province is not “alienated” from the Government system.

    wise counsel mama Wina,
yes we did not choose to be born in this territory called Zambia; it was indeed God’s design. Zambia is our tribe though we speak 73 languages. You and minister of justice are my favorite ministers. Your personality and and speeches and actions exude wisdom.
Keep it up mama! so proud of you!

You need to do more for Livingstone to be a real tourist capital. There is nothing to show for that title at the moment. Surely the now dry victoria Falls and the now not well looked after livingstone Museum are not enough to qualify that sleepy town as a tourist capital. After all one hardly sees the tourists in town.

jebbo, iam humbled my man. Me too when ever an opportunity to be in my country presents itself, i buy from such people. Lets not support pf because ourselves we are eating 8 meals in a day, but on policies laid down. You cant have a minister dictate to erb ati increase the power tarriffs. there should be a system at play and prices will deturmin themselves. As it is here is south Africa fuel price will be going down soon, its the government that announced this, but the policies the government put in place to enable systems opperate independently

You are the same people who have neglected your relatives. Why should I let my old mother, grandmother, aunt selling at the road side when I am here? Most relatives have stopped looking after the old, orphans, widows even the sick expecting the government to look after them. Grow up men look after your relatives and you will be blessed. Nowadays everything is the Government, how many responsibilities do the government have? What about your responsibilities.

So Mrs Wina is agreeing and saying that Sata didn’t want to share the national cake fairly amongst all tribes and that he didn’t embrace the one Zambia one nation motto? Effectively that he was a tribalist.
