Reject K900 Pay, Kambwili Tells Miners

CHIEF Government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has urged workers at the China Nonferrous Metal Mining Corporation Luanshya Copper Mines (CLM) to reject the K900 they have been offered while on recess.
CLM has sent workers on forced leave while the Baluba Mine is on care and maintenance owing to the fall in copper prices and high production costs.
The mine further intends to withdraw all conditions of service except for medical allowance.
Mr Kambwili, who is Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, said in an interview yesterday that the action is illegal and an abrogation of the collective agreement signed by management and the union.
Mr Kambwili, who is also Roan member of Parliament (MP), threatened to take the matter to court should CLM management go ahead with the decision.
“We will not allow investors to abuse workers like that because it should be a win-win situation for manage-ment and the unionised workers. Even during the time of Binani (Group of Companies), the workers were still entitled to all conditions of service,” Mr Kambwili said.

We are promoting love, unity, reconciliation,peace and tolerance and refuse comments of insults! Hon Kambwili is a Minister and we must respect authority. We are all born from Parents Male and Female, the consummation of both made us children. If you use the Female and Male organ to insult in the comments then know you are undressing and insulting your Mother and Father and are cursed because the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20 advises us to Honor Mother and Father so that it may go well with you in life.
