By Allan Morgan Sakala
Munali Aspiring MP-2016
The two past by-elections have cemented my disappointment with the current political configuration of this country. They were non issue based and did not focus on development. The political future of Zambia must not belong to those that are violent and foul mouthed.
A PANAROMA of our political arena can make one excited and gloomy at the same time. It can help you to see those fighting for what Aristotle called the common good as well as those looking more at their own interests.
In politics you expect both, not that they are all beneficial, but because politics is a complex animal. Notwithstanding, it seems what Zambians want is that sort of politics that exalts the public interest instead of individuals.
Politicians should focus their debates on national issues and desist from personal attacks which have no benefit to the country’s developmental agenda.
As the 2016 election date draws close, I urge all politicians to exercise self- restraint and canvass for votes in a manner that is dignified and Modest.
I further urge all well-meaning political party leaders to encourage their members to set a good example by desisting from slander, political intimidation and violence.Lets all embrace issue based Politics and place national interest above that of political parties.

Morgan Sakala, stop being academic. If it is slander you are against, check yourself and the simple academic brief you have posted. After you read through, answer this question: ‘Which political player, in the just ended bye election, can ‘own-up’ to you saying “Yes indeed, I was not issue based as Sakala says”? NONE!!
Therefore, you slander your friends to discourage slander!!
