Verbatim: Hapunda’s Leaks Of Classified Information
BRIAN Hapunda has disclosed that State House permanent secretary Emmanuel Chilubanama has been corruptly receiving money from contractors.
And Hapunda, the former PF media and publicity director, is on the run, after his private cell phone conversation with Ephraim Shakafuswa, where he exposed the State House official, was leaked and circulated on social media.
Hapunda called Shakafuswa to share State House information regarding how President Edgar Lungu was dealing with the Kaizer Zulu shooting, which he apparently wanted to be leaked to the Zambian Watchdog.
But he went further to disclose that Chilubanama had been getting money from contractors through dubious contracts.
Bellow is the conversation between Hapunda and Shakafuswa.
Hapunda: Hello.
Shakafuswa: Yes sir.
Hapunda: Omunene, a quick one. You’re alone there?
Shakafuswa: Ati nzi?
Hapunda: Are you alone there?
Shakafuswa: I’m alone yes, I’m alone.
Hapunda: In confidence, ijilo… when boss (President Lungu) was leaving for New York, wakasiya instruction ku airport. Musankwa wesu oyu KZ (Kaizer Zulu), he told him, ‘You are not going with me to ‘thing’ until you sort out this issue ya shooting. So he thought he (President Lungu) was joking, so he proceeded ku airport. So after batanta ndeke, the boss told him, ‘What are you doing here? I thought I told you that you are not going with me until you sort out this police issue’. That’s when he ordered him to disembark. Then he went further and gave instructions kuli ba party security to say, ‘Don’t allow him ku office ijilo ku State House. Lock his office and also musankwa oyu DS (Davies Chama). So he told them to lock his office and an instruction was also given to say ma youths should go and lock up Chama’s office. So yes, that’s what’s happening right now.
Shakafuswa: Which other office?
Hapunda: Ya Chama, party office.
Shakafuswa: Oh, even Chama’s office? Yeah, because they are denting the President’s name.
Hapunda: So yeah, he (President Lungu) is very upset. He says, ‘No, you guys have been embarrassing me’.
Shakafuswa: From what I hear from Jonas (Shakafuswa, Katuba UPND member of parliament), he tells me this man (President Lungu) is a good man; he is just being messed up by these people.
Hapunda: So for the PS waku State House, I think it’s to do with ma contracts, ma dubious contracts. He (Chilubanama) has been getting a lot of money from ma contract aya.
Shakafuswa: This guy Chibulamanama?
Hapunda: Yes, though he is in Solwezi with us here right now, but even him, they have even withdrawn ma security which he was using.
Shakafuswa: Which is good! They have to go.
Hapunda: Ahaa! So, kamucitacita but please don’t quote me.
Shakafuswa: Okay, okay. I’ll do, I’ll do ba guy.
Hapunda: Enhee! So just hammer it even kuli bena Lloyd.
Shakafuswa: I know how to hammer it. These are the same guys that hammered you, you know that ka?
Hapunda: Yeah. You know God has a way of doing things.
Shakafuswa: Yeah, big time che. One time sir, okay sir.
Hapunda: So kamukapolisha polisha.
Shakafuswa: Okay, I’ll do.
Hapunda: So as it is apa, Kaizer didn’t even go ku office. I think he went but he found bamutanda a gate.
Shakafuswa: So ba Chibulamanama alakwe, he can’t enter, isn’t it?
Hapunda: He can’t enter, but he is with us kuno ku Solwezi. But they have withdrawn the security which he was using.
Shakafuswa: Beautiful, thanks.
Sources within the PF disclosed that unknown people went to Hapunda’s house and fired three gunshots around 02:30 hours.
“He is on the run because of this same recording. He is scared for his life. And people actually followed him to his house and fired three gunshots. So he will try to use the cartridges to try and identify the gun that was used and who owns it,” said the sources.
In April 2015, Hapunda wrote an exculpatory letter to President Lungu over allegations of misappropriating campaign funds.
He explained that he was painfully carrying a stigma of having pocketed campaign money he received from then Finance Bank chairman Dr Rajan Mahtani.
He explained that all the money that passed through his hands from Dr Mahtani was remitted to President Lungu and his wife, Esther, during campaigns.
“Your Excellency, I write to you reference (sic) to the above captioned subject matter to express myself on a malicious story that has been going round that I pocketed campaign money in the just ended presidential ‘by-election’ from a named donor Dr Rajan Mattani
(sic). Painful it has been to carry this stigma from amongst our fellow party members and workmates, but allow me to say that all proceeds that came through my hands from Dr Rajan Mattani (who is a good family friend to the Hapunda family) I remitted to you and our humble first lady during the campaigns,” read Hapunda’s letter in part.
“It must be noted that most times I never met Dr Mattani (sic) in person (sic) to collect these monies as he was out of the country for medical treatment, but he would merely telephone me and instruct me to meet his contacts who would give me the monetary parcel to deliver to you.”
In July 2013, president Michael Sata revoked Hapunda’s appointment as Southern Province political secretary following reports that he was using the party’s name to solicit for funds which he never remitted.
Police then arrested Hapunda and charged him with five counts of uttering false documents and obtaining money by false pretences amounting to K29,000.
Following Sata’s death last October, Hapunda tried to instal himself as the party’s media and publicity secretary, but was fired by then acting president Dr Guy Scott.
While still facing trial in the Livingstone Magistrates’ Court, Hapunda campaigned vigorously for President Lungu in the 2015 presidential election and the Patriotic Front, under President Lungu, withdrew the case against him.

Much of what is floating around is emotion and less reason.There is and will never be any tribe in Zambia that will claim supremacy over the other notwithstanding the swaka, subiya…whatever! In class it is never Bemba, Nyanja..etc in that order -its about brains and grades so is development – its not where one comes from but intelectual capacity to read a situation and give meaningful result.How I wish this could be possible of rotating the presidency. It may add value to all tribes. Nigeria, though not in this context, has rotated presidency on religion. CHRISTIAN – MUSLIM as these are majority and maybe Bok Haram will fizzle into oblivion.

Reasons Why Hichilema Can’t Rule Zambia
1. UPND is a Party of Evil people
When Our Beloved President Michael Sata passed on, most if not all UPND supporters were very happy to hear of Mr Sata’s death. I have friends who told me that some people were even dancing in homes saying God has answered their prayers and it was time for their own to take over the leadership of Zambia. It is a known fact that UPND started campaigning even before President Sata was put to rest. To date l am still shocked that a party that is seeking to run the affairs of our country is full of evil people. One thing l know about Zambians is that they will reject any evil group. Anyone who wishes others sickness, failure or death is an agent of the devil.
2.Life President: UPND is HH and HH is UPND
When was the last time UPND held a national convention to elect its Leaders. Tell you what it is not needed. Because HH will be the party’s Presidential candidate next year. If HH can stay on the position of party president since he was elected almost 10 years ago even after losing four Presidential elections. What can stop him from declaring himself life State President in the event he became President. With or without a convention HH will be UPND Presidential candidate. Mark my words
