Lusaka Residents Counsel PF, UPND
Some Lusaka residents have expressed concern over the war of words between the ruling Patriotic Front and some opposition political parties on the national prayer and fasting day.
Samuel Kafungo says government should realize that if it continues to respond to those who are not for the idea of the prayer and fasting, it may be discouraging people who are willing to take part.
Mr. Kafungo says government should respect those who are not for the idea and but remember them in the prayers so that they realize the importance of prayer and fasting and be able to take part next time.
Michael Kawanga says reconciliation, unity and love are not suppose to be a one day thing but that government should show love, unity and reconciliation even before 18th October so as to inspire the people of Zambia and show them that they truly mean it unlike the case is where government is responding to everyone who is against the day.
Elijah Mushusha says government should lead by example by the language from those in leadership as well as their conduct failure to which the day may turn out to be like any other day.
He further states that where government does not agree with the opinion of the opposition, it should find a polite way of responding to them and not in a provocative way.

Do not be foolish. Why are you not reporting on how your chief joker of government spokesperson was schooled today by HH. Indeed HH has shown you chaps that you are incompetent and now many zambians are coming to realise that the PF is a sinkng boat. We are glad that kambwili rang in. very dull man kiki. As for those prayers keeps lying to yourselves as if they will solve anything. It is all a political gimmick. I agree with lusaka residemts but I doubt if UPND can do that. To them the best way to win elections is by painting PF black. What have you heard from HH about mayor of livingstone? God will tell

@ hacksgeo for your own information all churches in the world pray on Sundays. Its only SDA who worship on Saturday’s while others are in offices and we respect that. So urging SDA to abscond prayers on Sunday will just be a drop in an ocean. Think twice

There is always a time when people shake hands to confirm an agreement in forgiving or indeed agree to stop firing.
The useless conditions set by UPND president can hang but us shall celebrate accordingly as requested by the State PRESIDENT because we need God’s mercy in our day to day activities and if we can set aside a special time for it, the better.

It’s very difficult to reconcile in the middle of provocation and hostilities from the ruling PF thugs. Not long ago a stupid PF minister urged HH to keep away from the day of national prayers because he would contaminate their players. Such a statement would just make a joke and mockery of the whole process.

National Day of prayer, fasting and reconciliation will give us a good opportunity to know which politicians are serious with national matters. Sorry for those that are planning to stay away. They will simply have decampaigned themselves. Zambia for God. May God heal and bless Zambia.

if someone is desperate for power the more the poor suffers coz if the government wants to build the roads,clinics,schools,a pipe line from Angola,a hummer meal from China,a solar for power and many more all these are for the poor people like us to benefit but hh and his followers knows very well that if these things finishes hh will lose support from the Zambian people hence hh criticize every thing for him to be in power.who is making zambians suffers more?

it is not about fasting & prayer that is important, it is whether the Lord will answer the prayers, that is what is imortant. But if u really want God to answer, y the insults, the name calling, the accusations, the Holy and just God seek repentant, God fearing people above sacrifice: b4 u waste ur time to go and pray examin urselves and confess ur sins:read isaiah 58 chapter

If realy Zambia is christian Nation,this programm of prayer and fasting was supose to be there even long time at list from the biegning of the year and also end!.We should not just wait until things be come bard then that is when you remember God!.That, why main people are not support it.the Bible say prayer wethaut stop! but when you just pray on 18-10-15 are you going to continue to have a National prayer and fasting? or end from there?
