Bailiffs on Wednesday morning pounced on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) seizing office equipment from Football House.
The bailiffs were acting on behalf of Cresta hotel to recover a hotel bill that has been pending since 2011 arising from the Chipolopolo’s camping bill which the ministry of Sport was supposed to settle.Football-House
The action by the bailiffs prompted the ministry of Sport to summon a meeting with the hotel management and FAZ where the ministry acknowledged the outstanding amount and committed an immediate payment of K50,000 towards the dismantling of the outstanding debt, with a further K90,000 to be paid over the coming month.
Cresta Hotel General Manager Fungai Makani regretted the action stressing that lack of communication over the settlement of the outstanding amount and pressure from their holding company to explain it led to the drastic action.
He reiterated the hotel’s commitment to working with both the FAZ and Ministry adding that had they been informed of challenges the ministry was facin, they would not have engaged bailiffs.
This is contained in a statement issued to QFM Sports News by FAZ Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe.

Why cant FAZ use the USD 80,000 from Bim Hammam which Kalusha Bwalya is keeping?
At the current exchange rate, the $ 80,000 can dismantle all the FAZ debts without any problem.
