Be Truthful, Kambwili Tells UPND, MMD

Chief Government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has advised opposition leaders against attempting to mislead Zambians through unjustified propaganda on the depreciation of the Kwacha and the electricity power deficit.
Mr Kambwili said in Lusaka yesterday that United Party for National Development (UPND) and Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) leaders’ scathing propaganda attacks against Government are calculated at misleading Zambians.
Speaking when he featured on `Let the people talk’ programme on Radio Phoenix, Mr Kambwili said it is not because of Government’s inadequacies that the Kwacha has depreciated, but is as a result of a slump in copper prices on the international market which Zambia has no control over.
“Some opposition leaders are trying to use the poor economic performance to gain political mileage. This is time to sympathise with the Government because what is happening affects all people and is not of Government making,” he said.
The Official Announcement of the National Tour of the Africa Cup of Nations Trophy in ZambiaMr Kambwili, who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, said however, that Government has taken measures to diversify the economy to reduce dependence on copper and to attract more investment into the country.
He explained that plans that Government has put in place will take time to materialise.
“The Kalumbila Mine was initiated in 2005 and a lot of processes took place to reach the opening of the mine. President Lungu only came to open it this year after 11 years when the idea was first developed,” Mr Kambwili said.
The minister also noted that there are many achievements that the Patriotic Front (PF) administration has scored since forming Government in 2011.
Mr Kambwili said Government has constructed and upgraded hospitals augmented by construction of corresponding health training institutions to address the challenge of human resource in selected districts.
On the power deficit, the minister said Government is upgrading the Ndola Energy power plant from 50 megawatts (MW) to 100 MW.
“Government through Zesco will be signing an agreement with Ndola Energy this October for the procurement of power,” Mr Kambwili said.
The minister also said China Nonferrous Metal Mining Corporation Luanshya Copper Mines (CLM) should pay the workers full salaries until copper prices stabilise on the international market.
The minister said it is unfair for CLM to keep workers without pay while the mine is on care and maintenance.
“When an employee is put on recess because the company is failing to meet certain obligations, it is wrong on the part of the company to tamper with the conditions of service for workers which are already agreed upon,” Mr Kambwili said.
He urged CLM to honour the collective agreement which the mining company signed with the unions and that procedure should be followed in an event of some changes.
Mr Kambwili wondered why CLM has taken a stance of not paying workers when Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), which has put 129 workers on recess, is still paying the workers.
In the road sector, the minister said Government has so far constructed over 4,000 kilometres of roads country-wide under various projects and programmes.
Mr Kambwili also said Government is upgrading township roads in all the provinces to bituminous standards under the urban road rehabilitation project.
“In the education sector, we have continued with the recruitment of teachers. This year, 5,000 teachers will be recruited and the same number for next year,” he said.
And Mr Kambwili said the national day of repentance, prayer and fasting is a call for all people to seek the face of God to intervene in the governance of the country.
“You cannot say that you have declared a day of repentance, prayer and fasting when other activities are taking place and we are not commanding anyone, but merely requesting that during the period of prayer and fasting, bar owners and other institutions of entertainment nature should remain closed to 18:00 hours,” Mr Kambwili said.

MMD wood winked us to revolt against KK during those hard times. Result was loss of jobs due to sale of our companies to foreigners. As I grew older I realised that those problems were not KK’s fault, they came about due to world recession. I hope HH knows where the rains are hiding.

Empty talk as usual ba “copper stone university”, it’s a pity most Zambians think he’s brilliant and that just shows how bad the mess is in Zambia.
He needs to stop responding to the opposition and start explaining specific interventions and remedies. God has already blessed Zambia, it’s time to stop being religious and be practical. Manna won’t fall from heaven, use your brains this time.

They have not articulated or rather explained the exit plan and have resorted to blaming the world for the mess and are now asking the poor to pray .Hence I have every right to express my disappointment with these failures. unlike you who claps for everything PF does without taking time to think.

How do you remove a working party from power? That’s suicide!!! Current woes are beyond everyone’s control but measures are being put in place to avert future recurrence. Ndeloleshafye, you see as pipo on planet earth and Zambia in particular we do not ask questions as to what I can do to save the situation, rather we want someone else to do it for us and thus end up putting all our trust and hope in another.

I urge critics of PF to sober up and take personal responsibility. Unless we accept collective failure as a pipo from the time we got politically independent, where we also economically independent? Remember the Zambia’s current problems owe much to the past and if well managed can shape our future.

Unless leaders take guanine positions audits, they will never move us anyway. For example the country’s failure in the past to invest in alternative sources of energy can it blamed on ECL who has just ruled Zambia for less than a year?

You see as a professional you need to have a balanced view of things. These pipo who are in the opposition now get into power even tomorrow cannot tackle Zambia’s cumulative challenges over night. Tell pipo the truth and the truth will set you free even when you are in power. Only a FANATIC supports and chants slogans without much though and analysis.

Todays ago I was in Angola, same thing of dollar vs their weak currency. Two weeks ago was in DRC same thing.

Further, I expect genuine leaders to give us a blue print action plan on how they will solve these problems. But because oppositions have no viable alternative’s, they talk about very different things not even related to the problems at hand. For example, you start talking about ECL expensive attire, or purported bear drinking as if you even drink with him some pipo are blind propagandists. They have never even ECL until lately but want to speak as though they have grown and lived together. You history has been made, whether you like it or not, what are you doing to change the course of your history? Some of you may just die with no legacy to talk about, not even a chicken, not even a spoon because you waste time criticising others instead of working hard

Apart from wanting to discredit him, most of these messages do not give any reasonable Zambian anyhope. What if pipo are not interested in what you are saying.

In Strategic Planning, when you do a SWOT analysis you identify constraints or weaknesses and put in place an objective to sought that weakness or turn it into a positive. Such is what we expect.

MMD did exceptionally well, they managed to build the resource reserves that PF used to build roads. Most roads that we are seing today were initiated by MMD but they planned on how to implement gradually. PF govt is broke as they have depleted all the reserves left by MMD that they are dispising today. MMD left the kwacha at K4.50 to a dollar but immediately PF took over power, the kwacha depreciated to K6 and now at K13 to a dollar. This spells out how poor the leadership of PF is.

If at all Kambwili and the PF honey mooners are wise ,then why are we going through all this mess?Kambwili should go back in history and research how Germany under Hitler defied the odds economically and got out of the mess created by greedy bankers to be an economic giant in Europe in just five years.Germany was treated very harshly under the terms of the Treaty of Versailes but got out of the economic dire straits by bartering for commodities other than using the hyper inflated Deutsh Mark.I know the educated economists will say this cant work in this era but it could work.Kambwili is a jerabo type of leader still following the principle of the “law of the taiga”.

Also note that God is watching to see how you would conduct yourselves over such a small issue like drought. You are a total disgrace instead of even depending on God you are pointing fingers at each other. Look, challenges, natural calamities, must be source of unity not disunity.

Peace that only God gives, go for prayers on 18th October 2015. When Jesus was resurrected and appeared to the disciples first things he said was “Peace be with you”. Peace is a serious requisite for any meaningful development. But what kind of peace is this. Internalized peace. when you individuals are grounded in peace anchored on genuine love the whole nation will be at peace.

Lets avoid all forms of discrimination, hatred based on tribe and support and pray for those in leadership. Believe you me non of these whether from same tribe or not will put food directly on your table you will need to sweat for it.

Peace is easier lost than found. It takes exceiisve efforts to restore peace and yet fail to achieve it. Howm uch has gone into ethinic wars (the entire world through UN), just over simple comment by someone.
