3 Chinese Robbed And Killed
Three Chinese nationals from the same family have been gruesomely murdered and thousand of Kwacha is suspected to have been stolen from the family resident in Kitwe’s Garnatone Township.
Their assailants used axes, iron bars and stones to kill victims, in a murder that has shocked many residents.
Three other Chinese Nationals from the same family are nursing injuries after being hacked in the same attack.
Police suspect two Zambian nationals to be behind the murders and have launched a manhunt for them.
The Chinese nationals are proprietors of Golden Kings Investments Company Limited a firm involved in the manufacture of roofing sheets and other materials.
Both Copperbelt Police Commissioner Joyce Kasosa and Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe confirmed the brutal killings.
Police have identified the two men on the run as Norman Kachingwe and John Mwanza.
Kachingwe and Mwanza were employees of Golden Kings for close to two years.
Police have further disclosed that the two went away with colossal sums of money.
A check by a ZNBC News team at Golden Kings Investments Company Limited situated at plot 35 Thorite Street has discovered that a safe was also ransacked.
Police have identified the three Chinese Nationals as Wang Gang, Wang Wei and Wang You whose ages are still being ascertained.
Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe said preliminary police investigations indicate that the three were killed between 20.00 and 23.00 hours last night.
Mr. Kabwe who visited the private business premises in the presence of police officers has since sent a message of condolences to the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia.
He said police are closing in on the suspects and have assured the Nation that justice will prevail.
Tony Shi a member of the Chinese business community in Zambia is urging police on the Copperbelt to assure their safety.
And the future of 70 employees of Golden Kings Investments Company Limited hangs in the balance after the killings of the owners of the Chinese run firm.

I feel very bad with what has happened, early this year I went and buy roofing sheets from the same company and we were plainning to go and buy door flames and window flames…

SAD. Could this be a crime of hate? So much has been said about these investors especially by politicians prior to 2011, and most weak minded people, think they are getting a raw deal from these “infestors”has they are affectionately called by some people, and have probably taken that has gospel truth, the brutality in this crime is just beyond stealing.

Of late your comments leave much to be desired. People have been brutally murdered and you chose to politicise the matter. If the crime was because of what was said in 2011 why has it taken this long for the two who have been employees of Golden Kings for close to two years to commit the crime.

Killing people in that manner is inhumane. I can’t believe this is happening in this Christian Nation especially after the National Day of Prayer. Some people certainly NOT transformed. We believe that there will be a day of reckoning after earthly life. Cherish your life and that of fellow human being while on Earth.

Sad indeed! Just a week ago there was an attempted robbery at a construction site in Chinsali operated by chinese nationals. While you cant justify murder, it seems our chinese colleagues would rather hold cash in their houses…be it to pay wages or operational funds. Whatever taxes, charges they try to avoid are really not worth losing lives over. MTSRIEP
