Dr. Kaingu has told Parliament in a ministerial statement today that the report of the CBU Caretaker Committee presented to him has found neither evidence or merit in the issues raised by the Copperbelt University Academic Union in their letter dated 22nd June, 2015, as the basis for their demand for the removal of the Vice Chancellor and the entire management of the university.
He says the demand made by the Copperbelt University Academic Union for the removal of the Vice Chancellor and the entire university management was premised on allegations which have not been supported by evidence.
Dr. Kaingu says in consultation with the Chancellor of the Copperbelt University and the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, it has been decided that Professor Ngoma will report for work immediately and that the current CBU management will remain unchanged.
He further directed all members of the academic staff who had decided to withdraw their services to end their illegal action and return to work without further delay.

Uli cipuba hilderberg man. when you are in management people will hate you without cause. managements are protected by their appointing authorities against such malice. you can’t have lecturers half of whom are from a known tribe playing politics with school.if government fires naison, they will still not go back. they will demand another thing. students unions before their lecturers are helpless. they can’t talk against them. they know what will happen to them in class. no one will teach lungu any lesson. he is getting liked everyday. HH is on the other hand dipping his fingers in one fire after another. clumsy politician.

No need being stubborn. Why should Ngoma insist on being a boss were colleagues do not want him sure? Why should one man be messing the lives of so many lecturers and students. Boma, please remove the man!

Even there ba Lungu you have shown poor leadership and clueless on resolving national issues. Inept Govt indeed.

Yes that’s a good move. All those not ready to work with Ngoma, let them go where the management will controled at will, this includes the students because all this confusion has ben brought by UPND in a way to show that PF has failed Univesties. Let them aply to UPND as MPs if they wil win. The truth will be known soon just wait for the full investgetion report.

This is total disappointing and this will lead to the closure of the institute. It will further force ECL to fire Dr Kaingu because of this wrong decision. Remember that the Lecturers have said they will only return to work if Prof Ngoma goes. Do again remember what with Zamtel director who was being protected by the president. Your Excellence listen to the cry of the students and people.

Tell us what you will do and we shall listen to you. So far just follow your cows behind.
For us the PF has archived a lot of infrastructure rehabilitation and development.
-Roads, non political roads with all the long standing political roads completed.
-Schools with teachers and books
-Health Centres with medicines
-Sports facilities, state of the art completed
-Freedom of the Press
-etc.
From here after we finish the roads, you will see what will happen to agriculture and diversification.
Watch this space.

It is no secret that UPND is fanning problems at Universities. The decision of the Minister is the right one. It does not matter who is put in place the students and lecturers will demand also that that person be removed.
Students and Lecturers must follow proper channels of airing their grievances. They cannot dictate to government that unless this one is removed they wont work? As a matter of principle and also ethically and morally this is wrong.
Those who do not return to work should be fired and their positions immediately advertised. There are many decent retired and qualified personnel who can come back and fill the gap. We are tired of of these irresponsible Lecturers as though problems are only unique to their vocation.
