Mahtani Is free Rules Lusaka High Court
The Lusaka High Court has quashed the decision by the acting Director of Public Prosecution to arrest Dr Rajan Mahtani of false charges of forging share certificates for Zambezi Portland.
Judge Siavwapa ruled the decision was ultra vires and illegal. This means Dr Mahtani is now free. Read in full here

You’re the same people who say Levy was a good President. He was also a lawyer. In 7 years of that rule, did U get a constitution? Did U get a referendum?

That is 7 years ago when we were still dealing with this issue. At that point it was unrealistic to expect the constitution because it would have been rushed. Mind you mwanwasa did not promise us constitution. However forward to 2015 it is now realistic to expect constitution after pf promised it pre 2011 ok

opposition MP walk out of parliament.
The opposition parties will de-campaign themselves if they resort to walking out of parliament everytime there is an issue they do not agree with as a party.
They did this during the reign of the MMD.
We Zambians are fed up of this non sense of Dual citizenship being a security issue.
The downfall of UPND will be blocking this piece of legislation.

The controversial businessman Rajan Mahtani has again escaped accountability before the law today, as a High Court judge ruled to dismiss two criminal charges of forgery against him on the basis that his arrest was not allowed on procedural grounds relating to an earlier plea deal. However, according to one source close to the prosecution, the ruling was the result of a bribe allegedly paid by Mahtani to grant him impunity for his crimes.
“Knowing what we know about Mahtani’s history of escaping criminal charges via bribes to officials, and given the utter nonsense written in this decision, I think there is little doubt that he paid a bribe to this judge,” said the prosecution source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “The case was very strong, the evidence was clear, and procedure had been followed to the letter of the law, but again Mahtani escapes.”

Rupiah has a bone to chew with mahtani . Because Mahtani helped PF to survive financialy in the opposition .Now rupiah is influencing chagwa to make sure mahtani kisses dust. Mahtani is a genious in doing bussines but the moment he started mingling with politicians hell broke loose on him .Typical of black politics.
