Rupiah Is Jealous Of Me – Nevers

Nevers Mumba1

MMD president Nevers Mumba has accused former president Rupiah Banda of being jealous of him and scheming to destroy the the former ruling party.
Mumba told his provincial, district and constituency party officials on the Copperbelt who gathered at Kitwe’s Jubilee Lodge in the Showgrounds on Saturday that it was unfortunate that Banda had reduced himself to a mere PF cadre. “Our former president, with due respect, should have been the one to encourage and support me and my presidency in the MMD, but because he does not like me, he has opted to be dining and wining with the PF at the expense of our party,” Mumba said. “He (Banda) is engineering some meetings with MMD members of parliament so that there can be a revolt against my leadership. He does not want to work with me following his moves to support the PF, and that’s why I am saying he is jealous of me.” He said he would not tolerate acts of idiocy in the party and threatened to crush those working with Banda to destabilise the MMD.
“I am not afraid of Rupiah Banda or any expelled members. They are trying to use all sorts of schemes to kill the party because of me being the party president. I will fight them to my last breath to protect the MMD from destruction. This party will bounce back to power one day,” Mumba said. “I know and I am aware that the former head of state desires to see a dead MMD after he lost the elections in 2011 and he is doing everything possible to kill the former ruling party.” He said the alliance between Banda and President Lungu and the PF was neither in the interest of the MMD nor the country.
Mumba said he was not part of the losing team of the MMD that lost the elections to the PF in 2011 and it was illogical for anybody to accuse him of killing the party or making it unpopular. He also described as nonsense manoeuvres by some expelled members who were trying to frustrate his work.
“I will not tolerate nonsense from those expelled members of the party who are just bent on destabilising the MMD. We are confident that the MMD will form government soon and, therefore, I will not allow people with destructive motives to hijack the party,” Mumba said. He said he had spent K150,000 to mobilise the party on the Copperbelt and he would do the same in the remaining nine provinces of the country.
“I am working hard to ensure that I become president of this country next year and it is your responsibility to help me. I will send you vehicles and money for mobilisation following the support we are getting from well-wishers,” said Mumba.

i sympthize with Mr Mumba. pf is damn scared of losing in 2016 and the only little hope they have is to hook up with whatever is remaining of MMD. RB is such a heartless man but he should remember the blood of the innocent he killed in Mongu is still calling his name. no place to hide.

Everyone of these political party leaders wants to be president come 2016 😓, but there will only be 1 president. Antagonising a former president of your party reeks of disorganisation and dissent.
Mumba, be magnanimous and engage Rupiah! Strength is in unity

Mr Mumba what ever you rate yourself the MMD cannot win the elections, I doubt if you will have more than 5 MPs
The best you can do if you really love Zambia is for you, Nawakwi and HH to come up with a sincere winning formular to rescue the Zambians from PF.
