Wynter’s Rainbow Suffers Massive Defections, Members Rejoin PF
RAINBOW Party Southern Province secretary Kelvin Chikwata has ditched the Wynter Kabimba-led opposition party and rejoined the Patriotic Front (PF).
Mr Chikwata said yesterday that he has decided to rejoin the PF and contribute to national development.
“I am here to table my resignation from Rainbow Party and I am rejoining the PF with immediate effect. I have not gone alone but with almost all the district members and structures which were formed by the opposition in Namwala district,” he said.
Mr Chikwata said he does not see Rainbow Party forming government in 2016 or beyond.
He said he has decided to rejoin the PF because President Lungu has called for collective and inclusive participation in national development.
Mr Chikwata said all concerned citizens should be worried about the economic situation in Zambia and the world over and therefore support Government to find solutions.
“As a concerned citizen, I thought it would be better for us to work hand-in-hand with the sitting head of State and Government in power to find solutions to the current economic situation,” he said.
Mr Chikwata said this is not the time to illogically criticise or condemn Government over the economic situation but rather to join hands and find solutions.
He said President Lungu’s leadership is able to deliver and there is no need to change Government in 2016.
Mr Chikwata said most of the issues the Rainbow Party manifesto endeavours to achieve if it forms Government are being addressed by President Lungu’s leadership.

Chikwata is just a by-product of pfs economic mismanagement. The fool is hungry and desperate to eat therefore he claims he wants to contribute to national development. What development has pf brought apart from load shedding development and hunger. Foolish man

The defecter is the one claiming he has resigned with other members in the province. This cant be verified.He is alone. Otherwise he would have been flanked by other defectors.

chikwata ll b soon fusaken afta, ask scott. yo hav failed, and u say its bad to tell the developt countries the truth of our problems we ar facing, and u want help from sum1 u ar not telling the true problem. even the investors need to know the problems b4, so that they know how to takle it wen they come. not like the way u ar doing it on zesco hiding the real problems so that u get loans and dyamo b4 u start working.
