Kitwe City Council Casual Workers Demand To Be Put On Permanent

Causal Workers at Kitwe City Council, have appealed to council management to consider employing them on a permanent basis.
Speaking to YAR FM news in a walk-in interview, the workers said they have been working for the council since 2004, and wondered why they aren’t employed on a permanent basis.
They said it is unfortunate that a government wing like the council cannot adhere to the employment Act.
But Kitwe Mayor Kelvin Sinyangwe, says the Local authority is in the process of ending casualization as per directive from the government.
Mayor Sinyangwe appealed to all casual workers to remain patient, and use the right channel when airing grievances.

    Government and parastatals must lead by examples and PF govt. thru respective ministries must end casulization immediately.Government must work for citizens and not just make pronouncements in vain.Workers hav the right to demand as govt. has duty to deliver.

    THERE IS 2 MUCH CASUALISATION ESPECIALLY IN GVMENT INSTITIONS,LIKE PA MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY BA SO CALLED BA HUMAN RESOURCE(REGISTRARS).THEY TREAT BA CASUAL LIKE ANIMALS, FIRING THEM EVERY 6 MONTHS.THEY HAVE TAKEN AS THERE OWN FARM(ANIMAL FARM).
