Lusaka Teacher Pleads Guilty To Stealing Suit From Edgars

A TEACHER of Lusaka’s Chawama compound has pleaded guilty to stealing a suit in Edgars Store at Levy Shopping Mall valued at over K2,000.
Tebby Chilekwa, 29 of unknown house number in Chawama, is facing one count of theft contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that Chilekwa on December 16, 2015 in Lusaka, stole a suit, a shirt and a neck tie altogether valued at K2, 158, the property of Edgars Stores Company Limited.
Taking plea before magistrate Kunda Tantameni, Chilekwa admitted the charge but explained that he had no intention to steal the suit as he was only trying it on before he could purchase it.
And according to a police report from Lusaka Central Police, Chilekwa was captured on CCTV and told to pay for the suit but that he didn’t have money.
The accused, according to the report, failed to give police officers a satisfactory explanation, which led to his arrest and charge.

These Bembas ……Niba kabolala. They should not be allowed in shopping malls. Statistics at Shoprite and Game show 90% of people caught for pilfering have Bemba names….Mulenga, Kasonde, kaluba, chabala, chiluba, katongo, kabwe, musonda etc. They should be banned from entering malls.

Maundu and Hantobolo are both bigots. You are thinking in reverse. If you do not like peaceful existence go to Sudan or Syria. You will find people who think like you.

I feel SORRY for the young teacher. Remember what Jesus said to those that wanted him to punish the woman who had had been found in the” act”? We have not yet forgotten that issue of the justice person who was found wanting for corruption. Please forgive this poor teacher and let him continue taking care of our children. After all the suit was not taken away. If anything, let him buy it rather than put him into custody.

what example will such a teacher lead to pupils sure. too bad because teacher are the first role models kids have but if these is happening and his pupils get to hear of it it will corrupt there minds……..And if really he was just trying it on they would have not called the police, he did something that made them think he was stealing. trying on dresses or suits in any big shop is normal and they have changing rooms. they put up these changing rooms so that customers buy what suits them.
