Pentecoastal Pastors Shouldn’t Take Political Sides

Editor,
The Pentecostal pastors who have formed a group to support Edgar PaLungu to make sure that he wins this year’s elections are nothing but false prophets.
Jesus said, we shall know them by their deeds. I am very sure these pastors, who have formed a group to support Edgar Lungu, have been bribed. I would like to remind these pastors that corruption is sin and the love of money is the root cause of all evils.
We know these selfish and greedy pastors, who always support wrong things, just want to benefit from the PF’s dirty money.
These are the same pastors, who were supporting Frederick Chiluba and benefited from his grand corruption. I would like to urge all well-meaning Zambians not to listen to these selfish and greedy prophets of doom.
S Lemmy, Kabwe

These are the same false prophets who surrounded the silly chap lungu during the so called national prayers which yielded nothing but more poverty and load shedding. Signs of desperation by pf. The pf is crumbling and the only way to keep it in power is by trying to buy people. One bought fool is the likes of ka frank bwalya that ka fool.

The only one deserving chimbokaila is that visionless excuse of a lawyer who is a convicted thief who stole clients money.

Foolish judy, can’t you see how your chagwa has destroyed Zambia and the nationa’s future is now bleak because of his mismanagement and corruption. Shut up your smelling mouth is you have nothing to say. Zambia is bigger than tribal and regional politics that is why we need a man who can not preoccupy himself with corruption and stealing in the place of moving the country forward. it is small minded evil people like you who are indoctrinated to support vicious brute beasts in pf who have destroyed Zambia and have landed us into $8.5 billion debt meaning that everyone of us is now owing the international community not less than $750.

The Church should Not take sides in politics but should articulate issues that improves peoples lives. Leave politics to the politicians or do what pastor Nevers Mumba did.

Pentecostal Pastors are money sniffers and will go at lengths to be closer to the Bible by means of witchcraft in order to exploit unsuspecting money ladders wherever they are.Be careful they are employed by the devil.

Has any one of you ever wondered why all the class room blocks in all goverment schools have been taken up by these organizations called pentecostal churches? Have you not taken note that whatever little space they see lying idol in shanty compounds has been used to erect what they call churches using all sorts of types of building materials ranging from ifikopa, plastic bags, card boxes making our compounds look exactly like refuge camps? I even wonder if really councils do exist who are mandated to regulate noise pollution in our communities. The sudden causes of these mushrooming churches is greediness or love for money. This is one form of business. There is one particular church I know in Lusaka where every member is required to have a card, and these cards are given according to one’s income or riches. The poorest are labeled as Bronze members, the second category of members are also called Silver members, whilst the elite ones are called Gold members. In the last category, you will find that most of them are business men or Managers. They are cross border traders. They import most of their goods from China using the name of the church in order to evade paying tax. But the Bible is very clear when it comes to issues of taxes. Jesus said, ‘give Czar’s what belongs to Czar’. Infact this church I’m talking about is Bread of Life international. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. That’s why they take political sides. So, open your eyes and they shall not steal from you… Stay blessed country men and women.

Pastors can support whoever they want, as individual citizens. However they should not take a stand on a podium and declare a partisan position because their congregations are made up of supporters of different political parties. Taking a partisan position should only happen where a ruler or potential ruler has declared his or her enimity to the church expressly or by their deeds eg persecuting believers.

This is where wisdom is called for. But we have a bigger challenge in the church: too many “churches” set up by individuals who are accountable to no one. They do not belong to any umbrella organization. This makes it difficult to ensure a uniform code of conduct among all preachers. We need a situation where self appointment as pastor should not be happening. A Pastor must be ordained after meeting certain qualifications and must be accountable. This will reduce chances of actions that bring the church into disrepute including openly supporting one political party. What if they lose? Where would that leave the church? Egg on the faces? Lord help us.

These most churches are full of magicians who in the past used to perform for money in schools but have since seen gold mines in churches and they are purporting to be pastors, hence the love for money and taking sides.

‘My Kingdom is not of this world’ said the Lord Jesus. You cannot save to masters, this demon possessed pastors should have known better that their flocks belong to different parties and they were supposed to be natural in order to save all. Let the members withhold their money from such pastors. Let them be taught that although, we must pray for our leaders in government, worldly politics is not part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
