CONGO coach Pierre Lechantre says he will make sure he has a solid defence and not let Zambia have a field day when the two teams meet in this month’s Group E Africa Cup qualifier.
Lechantre, who was appointed coach in January following the resignation of Claude Le Roy, said his team was in pole position to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The match against Chipolopolo will be Lechantre’s first in charge of the Diables Rouges (Red Devils).
“We must begin with winning the Zambia match. Football starts with not [conceding] goals, we will have to be a much more airtight defence,” Lechantre told local media.
Lechantre, however, said the team’s qualification would not happen without hard work.
