The opposition UPND says Zambia needs a leadership and a government that will protect women’s rights as human rights.
The UPND says her party is concerned that President Edgar Lungu has allegedly failed to be action-oriented in curtailing the spiraling violence that is being witnessed in the country.
UPND National Women’s Chairperson Namakau Kabwiku notes that this is despite President Lungu being the Commander In-Chief of all armed forces.
In a statement to react to yesterday’s violent clashes in Lusaka in which women are reported to have been stripped naked, Ms. Kabwiku has observed the need for women to unite and rise against violence.
Ms. Kabwiku says her party is calling upon women’s organisations to immediately set-up psychosocial counseling centres to cater for the -rising number of young women being brutalized by cadres.
She is asking women to be there for each other regardless of which color, creed, political party or religious affiliation they belong to.
Ms. Kabwiku has urged fellow women to form a front to protect their rights more broadly.

Pf has no respect for human rights and only view women as sexual objects , for women’s day they turned young girls into strippers at their defection parade, youth day they allowed their disgruntled and uncouth bunch of thugs to undress any woman that was dressed in different party regalia, such a party doesn’t deserve a vote from any Zambian who was born of a woman.

Kabwiku is saying rubbish, is she not the one who paraded those good for nothing UPND women half naked in cairo road when they were protesting sometime back?
