Dear editor,
I am Zambian aged lady aged 26. I met a man who infected me with HIV and impregnated me. I am now 2 months pregnant.
I want to warn other girls out there to be careful with this man, He has ruined my life and I know he has done so to many other innocent young women. His name is Mwiinga Malambo, a 43-year-old man. He works for International Labour Organisation. I met him 5 months ago and we started going out, I stayed with him for a month at his home in Nyumba Yanga before he moved to Chilenje South. He promised me marriage and when I told him that am pregnant he told me to keep the pregnancy.
Two weeks ago I went for VCT and I tested positive I told him my status but he said its Ok and that he’s sick too. I then realized that all this while he knew he was sick and yet he still refused to use protection. Now he has dumped me with HIV and a pregnancy.

We all know that people can live longer with hiv as long as medications are taken as described. But do you know how much those drugs can damage your organs? We need professional medical advice here, how long is the window period before a virus can be detected in one’s body? Was this the first man she had slept with? Knowingly infecting another person with HIV – AIDS is a criminal case. Go to Victims Support Unit and ask them to help you open a docket for him.
