State House Deputy Minister Mulenga Sata is the new Lusaka Province Minister.
The President’s Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda says Mr. Sata has replaced Obvious Mwaliteta who recently resigned from government.
Mr. Chanda says President Lungu has since tasked Mr. Sata to use his experience as Mayor and Councilor to help stabilize operations and government programs in Lusaka.
He says President Lungu wants Mr. Sata to deal with the issue of garbage collection, cholera epidemic and ensure that the removal of street vendors from the streets is done in an orderly manner.
And Mr. Sata has told journalists that he looks forward to the challenge of working as provincial Minister.
He says his new role gives him an opportunity to get closer to the people.
