Former Lusaka province Minister and Kafue Member of Parliament Obvious Mwaliteta and Mpongwe Member of Parliament Gabriel Namulambe have endorsed the candidature of UPND president Hakainde Hichilema in this year’s elections.
And People’s Redemption Party President Gerry Sikazwe, Zambia Redemption Front president Kelly Walubita Junior, PF founder member Judge Ngoma, Petauke central Munika ward councilor Kelvin Phiri and the ambassadors of change of Chawama have all joined the United Party for National Development (UPND).
And speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Mwaliteta has admitted that he does not have a Grade 12 certificate, but that he is not bothered as he represents the many Zambians who have no certificates.
He says his support for the UPND should send a signal that things are not well in the country warning that if people vote for the PF again, they will be doomed.
Mr. Mwaliteta says he will not resign from the PF just yet, but will do so in good time, stressing that what he has done is exactly what Katuba UPND MP Jonas Shakafuswa did when he endorsed President Edgar Lungu.
Earlier, Mpongwe Member of Parliament Gabriel Namulambe said he will not recontest the Mpongwe seat because he wants to support the candidate who has applied on the UPND ticket.
Mr. Nalumambe says his decision should not mean he has no Grade 12 certificate ,claiming he has a verified Grade 12 certificate.
And Judge Ngoma one of late President Michael Sata’s close aides during his time in the opposition has promised Mr. Hichilema the same support he gave the late President Sata which made him to get into State house.

Hello tatafyala!! No! No one shall cry. It is only RB who cried coz he had no other options for survival after state house and it shows. Honestly, since when did being a leader mean to represent the many Zambians without certificates? Does it mean, in Mwaliteta’s world at least, a person with a certificate can not represent a person without one? You @JJB, can’t you effectively represent all the illiterates because you are a medical doctor?
For Namulambe, I can only wish him good fishing. He has lasted through many leaders; FTJ-Levy-RB-MCS, he must be thinking of retiring.
Though you support PF, you are consistent and that is what is needed in the country. If only our president had a vision, i believe he would not have been sympathetic in disciplining some of his members who uttered serious tribal remarks to alienate a certain section of our society. The end started with this trend forgetting that there are many people especially in urban areas who would not tolerate tribalism because we are a One Zambia. He protected an individual at the expense of the masses. It may not be now but if that seedling is allowed to grow beyond August 2016, then i am afraid of what will come next.

UPND Should Force HH To Retire From Politics -Mwaliteta

OBVIOUS Mwaliteta says the UPND should force its leader Hakainde Hichilema to retire from politics because he is becoming a liability to the opposition political party.
Commenting on the PF’s victory in Mulobezi, Mwaliteta, who was leading the campaign team in Machile, said the UPND was no longer attractive to people. “They should just go back to the drawing board and start thinking of dissolving that party and start a new UPND with new people. They should change the top leadership; they should tell Hakainde to retire and leave other members who will see sense in the One Zambia, One Nation motto. He (Hakainde) is a liability to them,” Mwaliteta said. He said if the top leadership of UPND was changed, it might change people’s perception of being a regional party. Mwaliteta said with the current leadership, the UPND would find it very difficult to win the 2016 general elections. “If you lose three by-elections and you are only remaining with eight months before the general elections, how do you recover? What makes a good president are not riches but humbleness,” he said.
Mwaliteta, who is also Lusaka Province minister, said Zambians had now seen that they could only get development from the PF government hence the victories in Mulobezi, Petauke and Malambo. “Zambians are thirsty for development and have now realised that they can only get development from the PF government, which has assured massive infrastructure development in the country, which was lacking,” he said.
“Zambians have confidence in the PF hence the results of the parliamentary by-elections…. The message is clear and we are very committed to making sure that development reaches the furthest of this country; to the poor of the poorest.” Mwaliteta said it was sad that the Mulobezi by-elections were marred by violent incidents. “I know the UPND very well in that if they know that they will lose, they resort to violence and I thank God that I was not there because they would have given an excuse to say it is Mwaliteta.
I was saved by an illness,” he said. Mwaliteta added that today the people of Mulobezi were travelling in comfort instead of being bundled up in the same train carriages with livestock as was the case during the MMD government.
He said Mulobezi was too poor to vote for an opposition member of parliament, who would just go to Parliament and drink tea and get an allowance without facilitating any development.
He has a huge task of swallowing back the vomit before the UPND god (the liability) can accept him.
