WORKERS at Kitwe City council have not been paid their salaries for 3 months now, a source has disclosed to Tumfweko.
Kitwe City Council workers have endured for 3 consecutive months without pay, with no hope that they will ever get paid due to incapacity of the local authority to raise enough revenue.
A source discloses that a consultative meeting took place on Thursday between council management and workers union so as to entice union officials calm the impending demonstration by fellow workers.
The workers who declined to be named have described the situation as unhealthy, unmotivating and urged the local authority to urgently find a solution to the non-payment of workers.

As a stakeholder in ZNBC, I demand equal coverage . Bwana Edgar promised to be my employee but his performance is questionable. He is behaving more like my boss. I can’t drive free on the roads because of uncultured black numbered Noah drivers who stop anywhere with no regard to traffic rules. Where is RTSA and Traffic officers? I wonder why we even got independence in the first place. After 50 years we are living without direction. I miss the late Mwanawasa (M.H.S.R.I.P). He never allowed carders to be at Airports, ZNBC, National Celebrations like women’s day, Youth day. The level of lawlessness is too much.
