Mumbi Phiri: President Hasn’t Endorsed Anyone

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) deputy secretary-general Mumbi Phiri has appealed to the public not to believe individuals going about constituencies claiming to have been endorsed by President Lungu.
Speaking in an interview with the Sunday Mail yesterday, Mrs Phiri said President Lungu made it clear while in Mpika recently that he has not endorsed anyone.
“The President has made it very clear; yes some people are going round in constituencies. Some women are claiming they will be adopted because they are women and some men are lying that they have been endorsed by the President,” she said.
And Mrs Phiri says the response in the adoption process has been overwhelming.
“I can confirm that for instance in a constituency like Munali, we have 15 aspiring candidates and in all the constituencies we do not have less than five candidates at the member of Parliament level. It is amazing that even in the provinces, which may not be our strongholds like Southern Province, we have more than three candidates per constituency,” she said.
Mrs Phiri said the response in the adoption process from the women and youths is impressive.
“We have seen a lot of new faces, new names that have come up through the applications and I hope and pray that more women will come so that they can participate in this process,” she said.
Mrs Phiri said the adoption process will be as transparent as possible and the people who are going to push up the candidates are the people at grassroots.
“Remember it is not about names, if you are a sitting member of Parliament, it is about your performance and if you have performed well, you have no worries because, of course, the people will speak for you,” she said.
And commenting on the Chongwe Constituency elections, Mrs Phiri said the on-going Chongwe Constituency elections have been transparent.
“The last Chongwe Constituency elections were nullified. As a secretariat, our presence was needed there. So we have the province, we have the district and we have the observers and the conductors of the elections from the elections chairperson Honourable Jean Kapata. So far, they are going on well, some people have gone unopposed and we are waiting for the final results,” she said.

This is the way to go. Noti aba bapwele for whom it is personal-to- holder. For them it is automatically yours as far as you are of their creed. I can confidently state that Mazabuka is for Garry Nkombo, China is for Mwetwa, Maliki for Muntanga as is upnd for hichilema for as long as they shall live. @NEZ &your band, refute this!!

Sorry, meant Choma for Mweetwa & kalomo for Muntanga. Blame it on the auto corrections of these ‘not so’ smart phones.

The pf are quick to issue out statements with regards to election and staying in power. However when it comes to national issues affecting you and I they shy away because they have no clue. They then say that it is being humble and yet chikopo fye lungu. Bane august is not far let us vote upnd

And how many idiots contested for any position and at which convention in your personal to holder party? Am sure all the hakainde worship leaders say ‘he is the ONLY who is marketable. Kanshi bukopofye and they have built and made their own wamuyayaya roughneck. Now this fool called NEZ goes on an internet knoll and stupidly postulates that aspiring for leadership and a desire to serve in some position is a sign of greed? No No No No!! Let people show interest and choose whom they want. Tell me, iwe mumbwe, how many of your goons has challenged that Mazoka woman for adoption? Even some if your Tonga cronies, some constituencies are ‘No-go’ areas becaus Muppets like Nkombo,

It is stupid for one to contest leadership role just for the sake of having that freedom to do so even when deep down the person knows that they are not capable. Maturity means looking at oneself and being honest with your self. The same way lungu thinks he can rule but has failed. You claim to hold conventions but last you had at kabwe rock gunshots were fired and violence ensued. So kakolwe please do not fool us with that crap

Are you, in essence suggesting that, in upnd, holding in trap arty democratic elections is stupid? Just because Scotland & Kaseba decided to hold their convention at a private venue? Watch your loose mouth, you are a liability to your sponsors!!

And sata held on to position for 10 years until he became president and yet pf.constitution did not.allow.that. however under upnd hh has followed the constitution pf the party and party still has confidence in him. Ukose mune kikikikiki 😂

You are an infant in politics and depend on hear-say. Sata was at a national convention in Kabwe in 2008 at which the only position not floated was that of party VP. That is how he held on. Why are we referring to Sata? Is his history now the upnd constitution? So if Sata phucked a 100 nurses, 5 teachers, 2 cleaners, 3presidential widows and 1 doctor you louts will say hakainde is OK because he has only dipped it in 1 ex-songbird and 1 widow? Constitution, Party constitution BaSawe imwe!

Bamumbi its not in chongwe where there are problems. Pipo have bought their popularities. you need to scrutinize all the applicants regardless of positions they got from constituencies and districts.
