Bishop Joshua Banda Refutes Story Rubbishing HH And UPND
PRESS STATEMENT (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE)
BISHOP DR JOSHUA H.K. BANDA DID NOT MAKE ANY STATEMENT AGAINST THE UPND AND HH
The Daily Nation of Sunday 27th March 2016 ran a story which allegedly quoted Bishop Dr. Joshua H.K. Banda, the Overseer and /Senior Pastor of Northmead Assembly of God Church saying that “Zambians will not vote for UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as Republican President if his strategy is to use unpalatable language, and hate speech against President Edgar Lungu…”. This story has since been reported by several online publications.
While it is true that a named reporter at the Daily Nation interviewed Bishop Dr. Joshua H.K. Banda by phone on Saturday 26th March, 2016, the words as uttered by Bishop Banda in the said interview were generic and meant to provide counsel to all political leaders, that using unpalatable language, hate speech and name calling will not help any political leader ascend to or retain the presidency.
At no time were the words directed towards the UPND, its President or any other political party for that matter. Bishop Banda and indeed Northmead Assembly of God Church remain non-partisan and impartial in their engagement in national affairs. To that end, we wish to categorically state that the part of the story referring to the UPND and Mr. Hakainde Hichilema as reported by the Daily Nation and consequently, some on-line publications, is a misrepresentation of facts and therefore untrue. At no time in the interview did Dr. Banda refer to, President Hakainde or the UPND.
We have since communicated to the Daily Nation and its Editor in Chief Mr. Richard Sakala to register our displeasure and disappointment. The Paper and its Editor in Chief have been magnanimous enough to admit this misrepresentation and agreed to retract applicable sections of the story and make the necessary correction at their earliest convenience.

As my friend @Hello Haters observed, there are some words which are synonymous with a variety of parties in Zambia. PF: Privatisation, tribal, freemason, thief, regional, Satanist, bitter, etc. For upnd: vision, chibuku, Jameson, dull, kaponya, loadshedding, economy, illiterate, etc.
Therefore, that reporter simply fitted hakainde in his equation the moment he heard ‘hate speech’: for him (& many others with him) hate & bad monthing are hakainde’s description. We can understand.

Diversity in any natural form; skin or hair colour, language, race, tribe, continental or planetary location, seasons etc are all God the Creator’s absolute pleasure. So do not despise anyone based on a natural attribute which is God’s pleasure. Leave HH alone. We should condemn and abhor individual deviant behaviour or traits like alcoholism, corruption, greedy etc., which are not natural but acquired through socialisation. ONCE MORE DIVERSITY IS GOD’S PLEASURE; ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION.

Bishop Banda is weak, Daily Mail is weak & other opposition parties are weak.
This is main reason UPND is an icon to ramp on the weak thinking of weak individuals.

george..your. statement of claiming HH lost by less than 28000 votes…maybe TRUE but if u may. state the reasons why can b helpful..what we should do first is look at the previous two vote counts specificaly for upnd…u will realise that HH still mainted his southern power votes…the word. VOTE APATHY was only only only applicable to pf…and here we are not talking of a small number…its a very heavy count…now that pf is stable…and people have sin edgars mind and heart…what makes u think we shall experience another apathy? get your facts right pf is a bigger team
