PF is Scared Of Me – Luo
GENDER minister Professor Nkandu Luo says some members of the Patriotic Front are scared of her and have started sponsoring people to spread false stories that she has defected to the opposition UPND.
Several PF Facebook pages were mired in debate amid speculation about Prof Luo’s decision to resign from the ruling party while some individuals like Brian Hapunda wished her well “as she joined the UPND”.
When contacted, Prof Luo said “for now” she was still PF.
“Whoever is behind it must be really scared of me and I don’t want to know them, I am not interested. All I can say is that they are scared of me, that’s why they are busy sponsoring people to be doing that. If that’s what they wish, too bad for them!”
Prof Luo said when she decides to resign, she would not hire anybody to speak for her.
“I am one of the most eloquent leaders and therefore I have a mouth, intellect and everything to speak for myself. I can’t hire somebody to speak for me. For now I am still PF; that one who is expecting me to go, too bad for them,” Prof Luo bragged.
She said the people in PF who were sponsoring the false reports were not acting in good faith.
“Even without you asking me, you can tell that the claims are false and indeed if I had defected, why would such news be on social media? It would be on the front page of The Post or Times of Zambia, isn’t it? This is just cheap propaganda which I don’t want to associate with. For whatever reason, that person posting those claims is doing so in bad faith because if it was in good faith, it would have been headline in your newspaper. I would say it myself, I don’t need anybody to say it for me,” Prof Luo said.
And Prof Luo said she has applied to recontest her Munali Constituency seat on the PF ticket and was certain that the party would adopt her.
She said as a central committee member, with no intentions of resigning from the ruling party, she had lodged in her application through her constituency office as per procedure.
