DANIEL Munkombwe says disaster awaits the Patriotic Front in August because there is nobody prepared to continue with the current economic downturn and political violence being perpetrated by the PF.
In an interview, Munkombwe said Zambians solemnly celebrated Easter on empty stomachs.
“I am joining the campaign trail for the UPND, I think it will be disaster for the PF. Disaster awaits the Patriotic Front in August and I will be part of the team that will cause that disaster for them. There is no leadership in the PF. How do you allow a lady to be stripped naked by thugs during a public holiday? That is disaster, and nobody who witnessed that act will vote for the PF,” Munkombwe said.
He said the Inspector General of police Kakoma Kanganja should realise that the Zambian people were watching.
Munkombwe, a former Southern Province minister in the PF government, said selective justice was disastrous to any government.
“The police are so intimidated; it does appear that the IG is a special branded person to deal with the opposition. We have selective justice in Zambia. Selective justice is really killing Zambians. It (selective justice) is dangerous for any country in the world,” he said.
Munkombwe said Zambians celebrated Easter Holidays only because they were God-fearing people.
“I can tell that if this (Easter) was a political event, it would have been shunned by Zambians after what happened during the Youth Day cerebrations in Lusaka,” Munkombwe said.
He added that Zambians would not listen to any bishop over the issue of violence as President Edgar Lungu was lukewarm over the matter.

PF winning with 1 percent in the previous election is questionable to be on the helm of the coming elections due to unprecedented high levels of economic challenges experienced during the tenure of ECL otherwise more prayers and fasting for 100 days is required for pf to win the coming elections.

In 1964 Zambian people came together as a united force in order to liberate themselves from white colonial rule, yes, they did it. In 1991, Zambian people again ganged up with an exception people from Eastern, removed Kaunda and his UNIP from power. I remember the cabinet which Chiluba formed was evenly balanced in terms of tribal representation. At least the seven languages we use as simi- official, were all represented. Unfortunately, this bunch of leaders we entrusted to to better the living standards of our people did the opposite from what people wanted them to do for them. In 2011 people from five and half provinces showed the MMD the door, and Michael Sata and his PF won the elections. Its a pity that Michael’s life was cut short. Then Lungu took over. What am I try to explain here? The majority voters from Atleast six provinces or more must decide who should lead them not, people from less than four provinces. I know some people have their own opinions regarding who will win this year’s election. But me, I’m just watching.
