LUSAKA has recorded 16 new cholera cases in the last 48 hours at the Bauleni and Kanyama treatment centres, bringing the total number to 428 since the disease broke out last month.
Lusaka provincial medical officer Kennedy Malama confirmed the development in an interview in Lusaka yesterday.
One person from George Township was received dead on arrival at the Matero treatment centre on Saturday, raising the number of cholera deaths in Lusaka to four.

1) Is God in-control (all-powerful)? 2) Does that matter to my faith?
The whole “why do bad things happen to good people?” and “if God is wholly benevolent and loving, how can he condemn the people in rural locations who can’t hear about Jesus (specifically),” was the start of this discussion. The feasible response so far is: God gives humans free will (and this, an act of pure love), but intrinsically free will requires a “wrong” way, or free will is not free. So people can and do choose to fail and fall into depravity and sin and do things pride fully on their own. This God watches with a heavy heart, but still WANTS all to be reconciled to Him and He makes a way for this escape to reconciliation through Jesus. The world is still chaotic, there are still people dying every day from starvation and sickness and disease (Cholera, HIV Aids, & Ebola); even if these are consequences of the free-willed creation, how can we claim that God is “all-powerful” and “in-control” if he gives up his power, the decision-making, to the humans he created?

Cholera is due to ifiko in the country. I think the government should ban the marketeers who display their products on the ground. Maningi dust and bacteria. Who really eat the food sold on the floor? Government should do there part too by hiring more council workers to clean the garbage in towns also put more chlorine in that water bane. We are tired of drinking amafi.

as long as we have unregulated street vending, we wont be able to control cholera.we know people have no jobs and they need to make a living by street vending but it needs to be regulated not the scenario we have now, where even food staffs are sold openly.

We need communities to come together and clean up our surroundings and streets and have the stuff collected. It is about time plastics were banned in Zambia. Chain stores should start by giving orders to women to make cloth shopping bags. .I was in Town centre this morning escorting my sister and was shocked to see so much dirt. Drinking places worse.Nyumba yanga market bars should be closed. We do not need to have so many people die from a preventable diseases. This is not Government problem it is ours
