It is undoubtedly a painful experience to see certain leaders being endorsed by your once close friends and politicians. What is clear about human beings is that you can only fool people for a short time. When you are not appreciative and sincere with your friends who see you on your way up, you will think they hate you when they hate your deeds.
Similarly, some people who do not understand democracy think certain individuals endorsing HH hate President Edgar Lungu. President Lungu has had an opportunity to prove himself to the majority Zambians but he opted to squander the opportunity. President Lungu opted to go for a governance system based on the ruler’s family household, at the expense of a legal domination type of bureaucracy as if he is not a lawyer. He opted for nepotism to supercede the leadership of rules and subscribed to the colonisation of his party by bringing back the former head of state and later abandoned the loyalists of his predecessor.
One important element of democracy is majority rule, and as such, some people in the PF should swallow a bitter pill when they see their members endorsing HH. That is democracy. The electorate that once supported KK later supported MMD. The electorate that once supported MMD later supported the PF, and it should not surprise madam Mumbi Phiri and Frank Bwalya that the once prominent PF members are now supporting UPND, which they once demonised. To claim that Dr Guy Scott and Miles Sampa hate President Lungu is undemocratic and misleading.
This is not a patrimonial system.
