GREEN Buffaloes coach Bilton Musonda says it is not easy to beat Super League title contenders like his team has done.
The Zambia Army sponsored side has beaten the top three league contenders Zesco, Nkana and Zanaco this season and are currently second on the log.
Bilton, however, noted that the victories they were recording were a result of hard work.
“We are working hard as a team that’s why even results are coming like that. It’s not easy to beat contenders in a row of the league so we are working extra hard as a team,” Bilton said.
And Deputy Army Commander and chief of staff Major General Jackson Miti said the team was on a winning path this season.
“We are on a winning path, we are not going back. We gave instructions to our team that this year we have to get the league. This win is another incentive for us. [The Army Command] is very happy with the team,” said Maj Gen Miti.
But Zanaco assistant coach Dabid Chilufya said despite the loss, his team was gaining form.
“Today, it’s not a loss as such because the team that was written off today has played excellent than the team that played the last match. We have so many injuries, almost twelve players but that’s not an excuse. I believe the next game, we are going win because the team you have seen here is doing better than the team that Zanaco know,” Chilufya said.
Buffaloes beat Zanaco 1-0 in the week 14 encounter at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka on Wednesday in a crucial encounter.
Buffaloes are currently second on the log behind leaders Zesco while Zanaco lie eighth.
