The Man  Behind Petauke Video Faces 19 Years In Jail

Rodgers  Mwanza, the 28-year-old man of Petauke who filmed himself sexually abusing a woman, faces 19 years in jail after police charged him with Indecent Assault on a female contrary to section 137 and production and circulation of Obscene material contrary to section 177 (a) of the penal code chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Indescent Assault carries a sentence of 14 years while production and circulation of Obscene Material is five years imprisonment with hard labour.

Police Spokesperson Esther Mwata-Katongo said in statement that Rodgers Mwanza would appear in court soon.

Mwanza filmed himself sexually abusing a woman in a video that was widely circulated on social media last week.

He then went into hiding after police launched a manhunt for but was eventually arrested in Malawi where he had fled.

Katongo also clarified that Mwanza was in fact 28 years old and not 38 as earlier communicated.
