THE Ministry of Higher Education, through the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board, has disbursed K2.9 million to 193 first-year students at Mukuba University for the 2019/2020 academic calendar. T h e 1 0 0 p e r c e n t scholarship loans will cover accommodation, tuition fees and book allowance. Project allowance will be paid to the students in their fourth year.
Ministry of Higher Education public relations officer Chiselwa Kawanda said in an interview that only three out of the total number of applicants were rejected because they did not meet the criteria. M s K a w a n d a s a i d Mukuba University is one of the five public learning institutions Government has extended the provision of loans to besides Palabama, Chalimbana, Mulungushi and Kwame Nkrumah universities.
Ms Kawanda said the next institution of higher learning to bee considered is Mulungushi University.
