Stop Charging Unemployed Teachers Registration Fees

Stop Charging Unemployed Teachers Registration Fees

A newly formed Non-Governmental Organization, Organization for Unemployed Trained Teachers in Zambia has challenged the Teaching Council of Zambia to rethink its decision of charging unemployed teachers registration fees before they are employed.

Organization Chief Executive Officer, Chijikwa Milambo has bemoaned the continued charging of unemployed teachers for license registration which he says is unfair and a violation of their rights.

He spoke to Phoenix News in an interview.

But when contacted, Teaching Council of Zambia Registrar, Ebby Mubanga says the Council is mandated to ensure that all teachers working both in private and government schools comply with the teaching profession act no.5 of 2013 which clearly stipulates that only registered and certified teachers are allowed to operate in any Zambian school.

NGO, be truthful, let the guys pay and start hunting for employment. Ask us in the health profession, it has been the case since you were not born.
