Lillian Kapulu Sacked, Peter Mumba Recalled

President Rupiah Banda has fired Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources Lillian Kapulu.
President Banda has instead brought back former Home Affairs permanent secretary in the Levy Mwanawasa regime Peter Mumba.
No reasons were given for the sacking of Kapulua but statehouse spokesperson Dicskosn Jere said the changes are with immediate effect.
While wishing Mr Mumba good luck in his new appointment, President Banda thanked Mrs. Kapulu and wished her the best in her future endeavours, said Jere in a statement.

This woman has served this country gallantly. She worked in the civil service for a long time and rose through the ranks. Well done mama and God bless you for the service you rendered to this country. I guess it’s time for you to enjoy your grandchildren’s company.
