First Republican President and Cavendish University Chancellor Dr. Kenneth Kaunda has said education is an important key for the country to achieve its economic targets.
Speaking during the 4th graduation ceremony of the Cavendish University in Lusaka today, Dr. Kaunda urged Zambians to invest in education if the country is to achieve meaningful development.
He has however commended government for allowing the private institutions to contribute to the country’s education sector.
Dr. Kaunda says Cavendish University will endeavor to ensure that quality education is offered adding that the education remains a cornerstone for the country to attain socio-economic prosperity. 324 students graduated with Masters degrees, Bachelors degrees and post graduate diplomas in various fields of which 19 have graduated with distinctions.
And Dr. Kaunda has urged the graduates to use their qualifications to contribute positively to the country’s economy.
