Zambian Journalists Challenged

A visiting American journalist has urged Zambian scribes to report more on religious issues.
Dr. Arne Jelstad a veteran American journalist says the media coverage of religious matters in Zambia does not tally with the declaration of the country as a Christian Nation.
Zambia was in 1991 declared a Christian nation by the late Second Republican President Dr. Frederick Chiluba.
Dr. Jelstad, who is also a religious minister, says religion is fundamental in people’s lives as it hinges on several aspects of human activities.
The American journalist is in the country to build local journalists’ capacity on religious reporting.
About 25 journalists drawn from various media institutions in Zambia have attended the workshop that is focusing on religion reporting.
