Former Namwala Member of Parliament Robbie Chizyuka has pledged to secure a 100 percent vote for President Banda and the ruling party in the constituency and entire Southern Province in the forthcoming tripartite elections.
This follows the decision by the MMD to adopt Mr Chizyuka to re-contest the seat on its ticket. Major Chizyuka, who resigned from the UPND to join the ruling party, has paid gratitude to MMD for adopting him to re-contest the seat on the party’s ticket. Major Chizyuka said he believes the MMD adoption process was free, fair and transparent as it is a democratic party.
He said he is confident of retaining the seat on the MMD ticket because people in the area have confidence in his leadership.
“I did not perform well at constituency level but my points were raised at district and provincial level. I performed very well on the two levels. I was adopted because I had a lot of support from the headmen, traditional leadership and just people in the area” he said
He said MMD has performed well in areas such as Namwala, Itezhi-Tezhi and Bweengwa, where the UPND president Hakainde Hichilema hails from. Major Chizyuka said it is time the people of Southern Province joined the rest of the country in electing a progressive political party, the MMD

This guy has no direction. I see him lose his seat.
