Variours opposition political parties will soon announce names of adopted candidates to contest this year’s tripartite elctions.
The UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says his party will announce its candidates during the course of this week.
The UPND had earlier said the party would announce candidates within ten days.
National Restoration Party Secretary General John Phiri says his party will announce its successful candidates on Sunday 7th August.
And without giving dates for announcing candidates, UNIP Secretary General Njekwa Anamela says his party is ready to field candidates in all the 150 constituencies.
But Mr Njekwa says UNIP will soon announce its list of successful candidates for both parliamentary and local government.
The Patriotic Front -PF- will this weekend announce its candidates for parliamentary and local government elections.
Party Vice president Dr Guy Scott said that the party has done most of its work in adopting the candidates.
And PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba says the party has taken long to announce its candidates because it wants to adopt genuine candidates.
Mr. Kabimba who has also welcomed the announcement of nominations dates by the Electoral Commission of Zambia further says the party’s process of adopting candidates is almost complete.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has set August 7th to 10th as dates for filling in Presidential Nominations while August 12 has been set as the date for filling of nominations for the National Assembly and local government elections.
