Patriotic Front president and strongman, Michael Sata, temporarily caused a pause in the funeral proceedings of the late Paul Duffy when he walked down the stands to greet Vice-President George Kunda and the Catholic bishops in the VIP stand.
Mr Sata, who was following proceedings from the commoners stand, responded to Cardinal Merdardo Mazombwe’s call for everyone to extend a hand of friendship to one another, descended from the stands to the VIP tents where the dignitaries were seated.
As he walked down the aisles crowds roared into shouts of approval and PF slogans of mwamukolo, mwamukolo (in the boat! in the boat.)
Mr Sata greet and consoled Mr Kunda, who was representing President Rupiah Banda and later went to greet the bishops who included Cardinal Mazombwe, Archbishop Teleshore Mpundu and the ZEC president Bishop Chama of Mpika.
The roars of approvals this time surpassed the earlier standing ovation that he was given as he entered the stadium at 08:45 hours.
Outgoing Vice-President, George Kunda arrived at 09:40 hours for a funeral that was planned for 09:00 hours.
Mourners murmured at the late arrival of Mr Kunda because his seat was empty by the time the master of ceremonies acknowledged him during salutations.

You pipo who are always praising Sata are the ones bringing Sata to his downfall. Today you say business came to a standstill when Sata was going to this market and pipo were jeering when Rupiah was going to this market, come election time Sata loses and he gets a heart attack. Please do not give this man false hopes, you a prophets of doom. Sata mudala please do not listen to this hypocrites, just pray and hope that one day you will win, not these hypocrites prophesying your victory, mark my timely advise

I like the analysis of the symphathiser. When u say he brough proceedings to a standstill it simply means just that. This besides the fact that he may lose or win this election. The fact is when Sata walks into a place things happen , whether positive or not they happen. The man is incomparable to RB or Kunda. The Fact that elections have stolen in the past and he has kept quite does not mean he commands no foloowing. I fear the man so much that if he wnated he create mayhem in this country, simply by saying do it. If I was RB and the MMD I would accord him respect because he has held the peace of this country.

A word from Sata just a single word to cause Mayhem in this country can put this country on flames that is how influencial Sata is and the sooner MMD realised that the better. Sata is a peace loving Zambian and with all this support on his back he has remained sober minded and although the last 2 past elections were questionable he would have otherwise let his supporters do what they wanted (to riot) but he restrained them.Sata makes things move like it or not.
He is a man of Both worlds (the Bad and the good) and actually thats what makes a man unless one is a pretender and Sata never pretends.

I think what has been said about Sata is true coz i remember in 2006 he restrained his supporters from causing confussion in Lusaka. They quickly listened and the former (late PLM) paddoned the cadres who were arrested. I RESPECT MR. SATA AND HE INSPIRES ME. MAY GOD HAD BLESSING TO HIS LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN

Awe bane ama jealous teyo, whether you like it or not Sata is loved by people, even those who hated him like the Lozis, this time around he’s like their saviour. And MMD will lose in Western Province just learn to accept that. When the President is fearing to go there you think pali ifisuma? Lets wait and see, Western Province yena it’s a no go area for MMD.

Sata never caused confusion in 2006, it was his kaponyas who wanted to cause that mayhem, try it this time around and you see how the long arm of the law will visit up with you. do not give this man false hopes that he will get votes from Western province despite what you say that he caused a stir. Let the PF leader lose peacefully on 20/9.

RB suppoters let me remind you that last elections was that 40% was in fever of RB, if current 40% of 5167154 voters is 206686160, those people who are not registered, they think when they vote nothing change, so they don’t want him, out of 13046508, only 206686160 like RB, and you say the president for all zambians
