Orlando Pirates Midfielder Isaac Chansa Will Miss The MTN8 Final

Orlando Pirates midfielder Isaac Chansa has poured cold water on speculation that he is fit enough to feature in Saturday’s MTN8 Final against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Zambian international, who was an integral part of Ruud Krol’s triple-winning Pirates team last season, is recovering from an ankle injury and is now doing light training.
In a chat with KickOff.com, the midfielder – who disclosed that he is not eligible for selection for the hugely anticipated Soweto Derby – says he is likely to be fit enough to be considered for the September 24 League clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I will not be playing on Saturday because I am still recovering. I will be fully fit in two weeks time. I am following a training programme that is separate from the rest of the players,” says Chansa.
“The good thing is that I am jogging now because this is a positive development. When people see you running, they assume that you are already fit. I am still working on returning to full fitness,” he adds.
Last season, Chansa became the darling of Pirates supporters after his goal secured a 2–1 victory over Golden Arrows – a result that saw the Soweto giants clinching their third championship of the PSL era.
