Sources have told tumfweko that Electoral Commision Of Zambia (ECZ) has REF– USED to publicly publish the final voters register.
This has been confirmed by ECZ director Priscilla Isaacs.
Meanwhile, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba has advised the ECZ to give a listening ear to electoral stakeholders concerns.
He also says the commission must heed to stakeholders’ concerns as democracy entails that all participants are engaged fairly.
Mr Kabimba was speaking yesterday in reaction to ECZ’s refusal to publicly publish the final voters’ roll.
The PF had written to the ECZ as well as the European Union Election Observer team seeking for the publication of the voters register.
But ECZ Director, Priscilla Isaac yesterday stated that the commission will not publicly publish the voters register because it is a huge volume.
A cross section of society have pointed out that the lack of transperancy at ECZ may cause anarchy in the country if not properly guided.
‘People are raising questions on why the final voters register is not published and they (ECZ) dont even see it that its from there that confusions and root cause of anarchy start from’ said the concerned electorate.
While other electorates have vowed not to accept the election final result if the incumbent party wins the election as this is due to ECZ ‘dark corner’ way of doing things especially in this critical time of elections in regards also refusal to publish the voter register.
‘What volumes is ECZ talking about? cant they (ECZ) also post the final voters register on their website? If the MMD can dress street light poles with an MMD flag countrywide, what then would stop ECZ (government funded) from publishing the final voters register?,’ some electorates questioned.
‘This is where the rigging starts from’ said the electorates.

ECZ we do not feel good when people are calling you names cos some of you there are our relatives and it pains us knowing how sincere you are. Do not trouble your selves if that is what the stake holders want give them the book to print for themselves or let them provide the resources so that you can print for them kwasila than tying the rope in your necks for nothing. The best thing to do is to free your self from these unnecessary alligations. ECZ and RB should read the last speech KK gave on 30th October 1991 during the press conference he held as published in today`s Post News Paper to remind those who missed this press conference and those who were young by then. RB attended this press confernce why can`t he be like his former boss in UNIP. KK really loves Zambia and the people of Zambia. He preached peace and still doing the same. He really believed in his philosophy of HUMANISM which recognised Man women and children inclusive to be more important than anything.
