Opposition Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) National Treasurer Goodward Mulubwa has with immediate effect resigned for his party and joined the ruling Patriotic Front.
Mr. Mulubwa, who is also proprietor of Chat Milling and losing MMD aspiring candidate for Roan Constituency in Luanshya, was until his defection, MMD national treasurer.
Speaking at a media briefing this morning, Mr. Mulubwa says he has decided to move out of the MMD because he has realized that people are fade up of the party.
Mr. Mulubwa says he has no doubt that Republican President Michael Sata will deliver to the expectations of the people as he has known him as a man of action.
And welcoming Mr. Mulubwa, Patriotic front Kasama Central Member of Parliament Godfrey Mwamba says Mr. Mulubwa has decided to move from the MMD because he did not want to sink with the titanic MMD.
Mr. Mwamba, who is also newly appointed Defense Minister, has pledged to ensure that peace continues to prevail in the country.

Goodward Mulubwa from the little I know about him is that he is a self-made successful billionaire.To insinuate that he has defected for greener pasture is both incorrect and misleading.

goodward must be investigated and must pay back what he owes the FRA. we don’t want people joining the ruling party to protect their “thieving and corrupt” interests. chishimba kambwili made very serious allegations against this man and thus must not be given a red carpet in PF. This our govt and will not sit by while corrupt elements are being received in the PF. As national treasurer he has a lot to explain such as the funds MMD used in it’s campagns coz fro the info we know it was bankcrupt prior to the elections,etc.
It is a matter of time; majority of Zambians will feel MMD’s loss in in the just ended 2011 election.
For now they are still busy with celebrations of SATA’s victory.

The defection of the MMD National Treasurer is not from his heart. The man is a businessman. He knows that being in opposition, he will always be visited by ZRA guys. It is what you always do you politicians to finish your friends. Do you remember Patrick Bulasho Musonda, former MP for Kabwe Central? The man was an MP for Heritage Party. Within a short period, he was forced to crossover to MMD by the visits of ZRA staff. Whats that? We will always end up with weak opposition. The same characters who crossover, since the heart is not with, in this case, PF, they will soon hijack everything forgetting the founders and later destroy it like MMD. Be careful.
