BREAKING NEWS : Grade 12 ECZ Exam Question Papers Have Been Leaked

The 2011 Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) grade twelve (12) Examination questions in various subjects have been leaked, Tumfweko has understood.
Sources within ECZ secretariat have disclosed and revealed this to Tumfweko.
The source disclosed that the leaked 2011 grade 12 Exam questions were sneaked out using the flash drives on soft print and later printed out.
“The guys who work from the Examinations questions bank have been doing this for some years now. What they ussually do is, they leak the questions then they start selling those questions at hefty prices. Like in the previous government, some ministers where in the forefront pushing for their childrens questions, ” said the source.
The source further revealed that there are some senior staff from the questions bank who are at the centre of every mal move made.
The culprits took advantage of the busy election period to execute the fraud.
“We know there move, they first plant people in all the provinces who are middle men, who sale the original papers then whatever is raised, is shared among them, so as we are talking the papers are already in the street being sold to targeted well to do pupils by the agents they have planted in provinces,” the source said.
ECZ ussually prepares four sets of examinations in A,B,C,D. In case A is leaked, B replaces it and so on.
The grade twelve examinations begin in two weeks time.
The selling of exam questions, whether authentic or not, is booming and has popped up in the news over the years.
2005 intake has gone in the history books of ECZ as the least intake which had minimal exam leakages unlike other intakes in the last decade when then minister Dr Brian Chituwo was minister of Education.
ECZ is since urged to withdraw and replace the exam papers sent to centres as leaked papers are already on the street.

Pupils who genuinely pass can not get places at the university. Very unfair. These same people who dubiously pass with distinctions when they dont deserve it, are the same pipo who get bursaries when they dont deserve it also. Very sad. It is good that they are giving work to the president I know the axe will strike soon.

The issue of leakages has made education in zambia to loose value. No one seem to care any more, ECZ ought to be swept clean. If this trend is left unchecked,in near future our country will have half baked grade 12s. It is unfair to those poor grade 12s living in remote areas where can they access leakages? No wonder we have thousands in townS with 6points and thousands in places like Shangombo, Kaputa. Muyombe , Luwingu … with two digits points. If really leakages are not controlled,it is better not to have exams at all, than having illiterates with 6points but failing to deliver.

This nonsense has to be stopped immediately for this only encourages laziness in the future leaders, as students, they must learn to study extra hard to pass the exams…
Pliz can the relevant officers take control and charge….

It’s unfortunately that the trend has continued for sometime with no concrete action taken to curb the situation. I guess that is how the “whole year partying” pupils manage to get 6 points and yet fail to write an application letter. ECZ and the Ministry of Education needs to be shaken up.I hope the new Minister will look at the issue with the seriousness it deserves because some marginalised and yet intelligent pupils are being denied their only chance to fulfill their dreams.

Comrade Sata must come in, ban the forth coming exams from taking place until fresh papers are printed. The entire ECZ staff must be fired-yes fired and new staff hired with a stain warning that any individual found wanting would be fired. In our days-early 90s going backwards, there where no leakages and yet we had no previllege to do resits-if you failed your grade 12 exams, that was it, you remained tight with your Fs. Leakages have led to too much laziness among the pupils, 80% of the so called UNZA/CBU students nowadays are a product of leakages-it is very shameful. We mighty as well let Cabridge University-England, start preparing and packaging the grade 12 exams once again like it was in the yesteryrs to put an end to this embarassing situation since the ministry of education and ECZ have failed to put an end to this harmful act of leakages. Bwana President, you are the only one we now rely upon in all these pressing issues, instruct the ECZ to cancel exams and prepare fresh papers, also let the axe fall sharply on all the corrupt senior ecz officials! Nosense, what kind of a country is Zambia where corruption affects every core of the society like an incurable disease??

Hon Minister of Education Sir: this practice sir has been going on for years, in fact every year. No wonder we end up with raw material at the end of their University Studies. Sir, kindly sweep clean the ECZ and if its possible, let them prepare fresh papers bcoz i know these papers are already on the streets, twanaka nabo aba abantu. IN PF, WE TRUST.

  14. Mubanga Chisanga   October 12, 2011 at 12:16 pm

Mwine Mushi, i think u re also a product of these leakages. I dont think you even made it at G12 level although you had leakages. You shld not be encouraging such corrupt acts in this country, you MMD failure. KUKANWA!

  15. LEWIS CHAMA   October 12, 2011 at 12:24 pm

I WROTE MY GRADE TWELVE IN 2005 AND I AM HAPPY WITH WHAT I GOT. THANX THE YEAR “2005” HAS BEEN DESCRIBED THE LEAST IN TERMS OF LEAKAGE. INDEED ITS TRUE AND I THINK 2004 STANDS THE WORST.
