Out of my many adventures, I ended up at that boarder in 2005. Yes – there is nothing to show that there is a boarder indeed. On the Angola side, the “buildings” are mud huts. The “road” crosses a marsh and rainy season becomes hell.

Overall, it is ordinary people Chipalo that deserve awards/medals at Independence Day. There is another brave man I met – the operator of a manual pontoon on Kafue River between Mumbwa and Kasempa. Guided by a wire rope, he rows the pontoon loaded with your vehicle between Central and Northwestern provinces.
