A PLOT to have some government leaders assassinated has been exposed and those behind it named.
GOVERNMENT has unearthed a scheme in which a named opposition leader, some fired army generals and a former President are plotting to assasinate government Leaders.
Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) disclosed this and said there is a plot to assassinate government leaders.
Defence minister Mwamba disclosed that he has information that a former president and a named opposition leader are conniving with fired army generals to assassinate government leaders.
But GBM said these people are being trailed closely in order to quell their plans.
The two leaders in question are alleged ‘tribalist tag carrier’ and Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) strongman Hakainde Hichilema and embattled former republican president and Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) talisman Rupiah Bwezani Banda.
The alleged plot is aimed at ‘wiping out’ Strong leaders who are in the forefront of fighting the many injustices that have happened in the country in order for them to go scot free on the many corruption charges which will come their way.

I quote former president KK on this one “…. Kachepa, Lies, Lies, Lies and Lies all the time – Lies for Breakfast Lies for Lunch and Lies for Supper…” STOP FOOLING US, PLEASE. I THINK IT’S NOW CONFIRMED, WE ARE OFFICIALLY UNDER A DICTATORSHIP. AND WHAT HAPPENS IN DICTATORSHIPS IS THAT LEADERS CONSOLIDATE THEIR POWER BY ELIMINATING ALL AND ANY OPPOSING ELEMENTS IS SOCIETY AND AROUND THEM! WELCOME TO THE SPIRIT OF IDI AMIN, MOBUTU SESESEKO, ETC…

Careless statments will one day cost us the peace we enjoy.
Let our leaders have a sense of confidenality and full information before releasing it. Why not gather the whole info and arrest the people involved then info the nation.

  6. mbuya   November 10, 2011 at 3:20 pm

Ba GBM, please spare us big time embarassment. Do not do things like at a Kindergarten. Even if it is true, there are better ways of dealing with issues of this nature.

Do not divert attention from what is important at this stage. Remember you were voted into power to bring about the following; job creation, more money in the pocket, people driven constitution, Freedom of information bill, good education, good health facilities and eradication of corruption which has become endemic especially in government offices.

  26. Utu jiri jiri   November 10, 2011 at 6:15 pm

These guys talk and engage their brains later. On matters like this one this clueless government must know that you’ve got to be armed with credible facts and not rumours. They risk losing in court and fork out alot of money which should be pumped into Hospitals like Kabundi and Nchanga North Hospitals in Chingola which are in such state of disrepair a.

  27. zambiana   November 10, 2011 at 6:15 pm

Fellow country men and women matters of national security are sensitive and must be handled in a mature manner. The idea of peddling tribal sentiments all the time in the press promotes tribal rivary. Look at all cases of previous genocides, they could be attributed to bad jounalism. Please media men and women dont fuel this tribal matter any further than you have already done. Zambia is all we have and we can not allow ourselves to be draged into a nonsensical civil war. Corruption is an issue we can all fight against but tribalism can make us fight each other. Take my advise because its free next time I will be charging a dollar for my advise. AMEN.

  28. musonda chanda   November 10, 2011 at 6:45 pm

I write to request the owners of the Tumfweko website to “take control” and remove offensive comments from this forum. Surely there must be some control of the comments. Why allow so much insults and immature comments? I am absolutely disgusted.
Take control or people will stop reading this stuff.

we need to bring sanity to what is published in this column. There are a lot of insults. This is an zambian. Most credible people are losing patience and this may affect the newspaper. Who edits these comments? This is really worrying. Those who have nothing to do, they should not do it on this column

  32. Hussen daka   November 11, 2011 at 2:10 am

Listen guys, i don’t think the minister can just open his mouth and make such serious allegations if he had no evidence at his disporsal.
Surely he knows what he is talking about. I would hate to see our leaders die like the late Penzer and Tembo. Please lets act and cage these fackers.

  35. SIKUFELE   November 11, 2011 at 4:40 am

BA GBM, TEKANYENI, BOLA PANSHI. DO NOT DIVERT FROM YOUR CAMPAIGN PROMISES. THE 90 DAYS THAT YOU SET YOURSELVES ARE COMING TO AN END AND WE, THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA AND VOTERS, HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING THAT RESEMBLES DEVELOPMENT APART FROM FIRING INNOCENT CIVIL SERVANTS AND REPLACING THEM WITH YOUR OWN KITH AND KIN. WHAT CORRUPTION ARE TALKING ABOUT? AND WHAT JOB CREATION ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU ARE ONLY REPLACING FIRED CIVIL SERVANTS WITH YOUR KITH AND KIN? TALK DEVELOPMENT BA GBM.

  36. philosopher   November 11, 2011 at 7:50 am

Rumours are good because they help us in being alert and also establishing what is right. What everyone should realise is that leaders who lost the elections are not happy. There’s a huge part of a LIFE STYLE they lived which we dont fully know. There are businesses we dont know.A lot is at stake. So anything can happen.GBM might seem foolish and childish but we still need to use our brains as bloggers and begin to ask quesitions on the basis of Why,How,When,Which,Where? What do we lose by being alert anyway? And people are merely unintelligently trivialising this change to 90days Sata’s political rhetoric. But a 100km road cant be dont in 90days,we all know, but the ideas to build such infrastructure can be done in 90days.Interest rates/taxes can reduce in 30 days but building a bridge may take longer. So we need to be more serious as ZEDIANS.Lets hammer government on policy.Change is not difficult. Its just the issue of MIND SETS.

IF TRUE ABOUT RB AND HH, HANG THEM AFTER ALL THEY DO NOT COME EVEN 1000 METRES NEAR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO WAS HANGED FOR NOTHING

  38. martcox   November 11, 2011 at 8:52 am

WHAT IS THIS NOW? YOU DON’T SPEAK UNTIL YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE MATTER AT HAND.IF GBM HAS SOME INFORMATION WHY NOT TAKE ACTION INSTEAD OF ALARMING THE NATION WITH — USELESS POLITICKING THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL OF PLUNGING OUR COUNTRY INTO CHAOS.THESE ARE INSINUATIONS AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON.

  39. Hidden Object   November 11, 2011 at 9:21 am

Zambia is for everyone who is in it. Please, our elderly people, why cant you sit and look at the hearsay rumours and then you confirm. Why think like a 3 year old who you can beat for touching fire and in a minute he does the same thing. You are old enough to think ba GBM. Dont think you are pleasing the KING COBRA, no wonder they nicky named him that, he is sweet and bitter at the same time tomorrow it will be you to dance at the same tune. Mind you, you are still under the cage, dont have that silly freedom to utter any stupid and nosense issues anyhow, but sit, listen and get the best footage of anything that you hear atfter that you have to confirm. Dont just bark like a dog which has seen nothing otherwise you will one day chase after your own shadow. Careful mudala you are under the King Cobra’s cage. Set yourself ready to run a race you’ve never run before. Everything has its own time. Enjoy your freedom but one day it will be you to dance at the same tune. The Nyanja’s say “Lelo chili pam’zako mailo cili paiwe. Mwisamwa sana bakalamba, tekanyeni. think of your own mistakes baby boy.

I applaud “Zambiana” and “Musonda Chanda” as having offered the best comments in this column. It is unfortunate for those that were inclined to insults. Please control the tounge as it is capable of distabilizing the nation.

  46. pnl   November 11, 2011 at 10:48 am

There is nothing serious about this. You can’t announce such serious matter just like that. It’s no good way to handle issues. For goodness sake, you don’t announce you are investigating someone before you get to the bottom of facts. This is not the way. I’m scared this will be another failed system. So far no tangible result has come- no Zamtel caprist, no napsa no nothing. Just circles, circus!
